Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Binder R/o Jhuggi No. 552, Sector-25, Chandigarh (age-27 years) and recovered one country made pistol from his possession near public Toilet Turn, Sector-25, Chandigarh on 10-01-2023. A case FIR No. 13, U/S 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested under NDPS Act
Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Parvesh R/O # 1740, Sector-39, Chandigarh and recovered 2 kg and 400 gram chars from his possession near street Light Sec-39/D, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 06 U/S 20 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Action against illicit liquor
Chandigarh Police arrested a lady (Age 38 years) resident of Chandigarh and recovered 52 nips of country made liquor from his possession near his house on 17-01-2022, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 07, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 05, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the statement of Pawan Kumar R/o # 520/4, Village Daria, Chandigarh alleged that unknown driver of car no. PB-01C-8642 sped away after hit to a pedestrian boy (age-8 years) near Anda Turn Village- Daria, Chandigarh on 17-01-2023 and the boy got injured and admitted in GMCH-32. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Cheating
A case FIR No. 04, U/S 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-Cyber Crime, Chandigarh on the complaint of Surinderjit R/o CRPF Camp Hallo Majra, Chandigarh who reported that unknown persons called the complainant through whatsapp and cheated with the complainant Rs. 1 Lakh from his account. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Theft
A case FIR No. 11, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Mohali (Pb) reported that unknown person who stole away complainant mobile phone, atm card, r/c, cash rs 5000/- d/l and some other documents from her car No. PB-65AW-1250 and withdraw Rs 27000/- FROM her ATM card near SPA center Raipur Kalan on 12-01-2023. Investigation of case is in progress.

In a major breakthrough Chandigarh the team of ANTF (Crime Branch) under the supervision of Insp. Satvinder Singh is able in arresting a drug paddler who supplies drug to University’s and Colleges’ students in Chandigarh, namely Parvesh.
Profile of accused:-
Parvesh R/o # 1740, Sector-39B, Chandigarh. Aged 26 years.
Brief Fact
On 17.1.2023 a Police party headed by SI Gurjiwan under the supervision of Insp. Satvinder Singh was on patrolling duty in the area of Police Station Sector-39, Chandigarh and when the team reached near slip road C & D Turn, near patrol pump, Sector-39, Chandigarh, one person was apprehended on the basis of suspicious, who disclosed his name as Parvesh and 2 KG 240 gram Charas (commercial quantity) was recovered from his possession. Consequently, Case FIR No. 6 Dt 17.1.2023 U/s 20 NDPS Act, PS-39, UT Chandigarh registered against drug peddler Parvesh.
Modus Operandi
Accused is very clever and makes contacts with newly comer students and traps the gullible students in Panjab University and Colleges and sells drugs to them. He purchased the drug from Manali, Himachal at Rs. 800/- per 10 gram and sale the same for Rs. 3000/- per 10 gram.
Accused Parvesh was produced before the Hon’ble District Court and police remand was obtained to ascertain the sources of origin of recovered contraband drugs and name of person (s), whom, it to be sell in tricity by arrested accused. A thorough interrogation and investigation will be done.
He has criminal background as his elder brother namely Akshey has already been arrested in NDPS Act case and in one case of Arms Act by Chandigarh Police.
Parvesh also once participated in the college election from Lawrence Bisnoi’s SOPU party.
