Chandigarh, December 4- The first convocation ceremony was organized at Om Sterling Global University, Hisar. Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, Sh. Anurag Singh Thakur, attended the convocation as the Chief Guest.

On this occasion, Lok Sabha MP, Hisar, Sh. Brijendra Singh, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Dr. Kamal Gupta, and Member, Rajya Sabha, Lt.Gen. (Dr.) D. P. Vats (Retd.) also participated in the convocation ceremony. Vice Chancellor, Dr. N. P. Kaushik presented the university's progress report and outlined its numerous accomplishments.

Sh. Anurag Thakur said that Om Sterling Global University is one of the emerging premier prestigious educational institutions of India. By educating thousands of young people and providing them with career opportunities, this institute has given the nation a new direction, he added.

Sh. Anurag Singh Thakur conferred students with degrees and congratulated them for their bright future.

During the convocation ceremony, 815 students were awarded degrees, diplomas; 184 students of 15 undergraduate courses and 426 students of 59 post graduate courses awarded degrees respectively.

Apart from this, 178 students of 14 diploma courses were awarded diplomas.

Sh. Anurag Singh Thakur gave gold medals to 4 students of different departments for their excellent performance in academics and merit certificates to 8 students. Savita, a student of Deb Physics, Session 2019, Kavita, a student of Deb Zoology, Session 2020, Nanduri Priya Venela, a student of Forensic Science, Session 2019 and Ranade Shilpa Jayant, a student of Master of Agriculture, Session 2019, were awarded the Gold Medal.

Anurag Singh Thakur interacted with the youth

Sh. Anurag Singh Thakur interacted with the students. Extensive discussion took place on many issues related to studies, career, sports and youth also put forward their queries. Sh. Thakur stated that he was delighted to be among the youngsters today and to share his ideas. He said that it is a matter of great pleasure that OSGU is making its best contribution in the field of education for the youth.

Sh. Anurag Singh Thakur inaugurated a Community Radio Station 90.0 'Bhavyavani', established at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Om Sterling Global University, Hisar.

On this occasion, Registrar, Dr. Vinod Kumar thanked the Chief Guests and other dignitaries for reaching the convocation ceremony.
