A girl resident of Sector-15/A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Redmi 4 & Samsung Tab from her room on 02-12-2022. A case FIR No. 167, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sadhu Singh R/o # 1562, Sector-20, Part-2, Sirsa (HR) reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Cycle from Shruti classes, Sector-46, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 167, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Vinit Bhatiya R/o # 1374, Pushpak Complex, Sector-49/B, Chandigarh reported that one person stolen his mobile phone make SAMSUNG and sped away on M/Cycle No.PB39D1121 with rider near Park, Sector-49/B, Chandigarh on 02-12-2022. A case FIR No. 73, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Later on Jaspreet Singh R/o Gurdip Pura, Patiala (Age-24 Years) and Kamaljit R/o Gurdip Pura, Patiala (Age-29 Years)arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling

Chandigarh Police arrested Rajinder R/o # 2881, DMC, Chandigarh (Age-45 Years) who was gambling near Vivek High School, Sector-38/B, Chandigarh on 02.12.2022. Total cash Rs. 12480/- was recovered from their possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 198, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. He was later bailed out. Chandigarh Police arrested Ujagar R/o # 382, Village- Kajheri, Sector-52, Chandigarh (Age-27 Years) while consuming liquor and creating nuisance at public place near wine shop, Village- Kajheri, Sector-52, Chandigarh on 02-12-2022. Crime Branch arrests Drug peddler supplying drugs in Panjab University and college campuses.

CHANDIGARH,03.12.2022- A major breakthrough the team of ANTF (Crime Branch) under the supervision of Insp. SatvinderSingh has arrested a drug peddler who supplies drug to University’s and Colleges’ students in Chandigarh, namely Tanuj Garg.

Tanuj Garg R/o # 296, Sector-51A, Chandigarh, aged 23 years.

Brief Fact

On 03.12.2022a Police party headed by SI Sumer Singhunder the supervision of Insp. Satvinder Singhwas on patrolling duty in the area of Police Station Sector-49, Chandigarh and when the team reached near green belt park T point A/B, Sector-51, Chandigarh, one person was apprehended on the basis of suspicious, who disclosed his name as Tanuj Garg Singh and 110 gram Charaswas recovered from his possession.Consequently, Case FIR No. 74 Dt. 3.12.2022 U/s 20 NDPS Act, PS-49, UT Chandigarhregistered against drug peddler Tanuj Garg.

Modus Operandi

Accused is very clever and he is himself a MBA 1st year student. He makes contacts with newly comer students and traps the gullible students in Panjab University and Colleges and sells drugs to them. From the interrogation so far, he revealedthe name of paddlers who are selling drugs and targeting students.

Accused Tanuj Gargisbeing produced before the Hon’ble District Court and police remand will be obtained to ascertain the sources of origin of recovered contraband drugs and name of person (s), whom, it to be sell in tricity by arrested accused. A thorough interrogation and investigation will be done.

Speed violation by the buses during the month of November-2022 to prevent the road accidents.

Chandigarh Traffic Police conducted a special drive during night to curb the over speed violation by the buses during the month of November-2022 to prevent the road accidents. During the drive total 74 challans were issued to the different roadways buses i.e. CTU -15, Punjab Roadways - 8, Haryana Roadways - 8, Himachal Pardesh Roadways -26. UP/Uttrakhand/Private Buses - 17. Further a special drive under “STRAPS” (Safe Transportation Policy for Students) during morning hours was carried out in the month of November-2022 against School buses to curb different violations keeping in view the safety of school children. Total of 109 challans were issued for different violations to the school busses of various schools. During the special drives nakas were deployed at strategic locations keeping in view the accident prone areas, dark spots and roads where over speeding is rampant. Further drive is continue.
