Ludhiana 05 November 2022-The Centre for One Health, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University celebrated One Health Day. One Health acknowledges an association between the well-being of Human, Animals and Environment in a shared habitat. On this day, experts from the centre delivered lectures to the students of Govt. Sr. Sec. Smart School, PAU, Ludhiana. Dr. Rajnish Sharma, organizing secretary of this event interacted with the students and discussed the importance of one health and how the awareness on one health is helpful in solving complex issues related to human and animal health. He also discussed the important measures to prevent and control zoonotic infections.

Dr. Deepali Kalambhe, co-organizing secretary discussed the aspect of One health and anti-microbial resistance. She mentioned that in the current scenario, one health could play a pivotal role to combat many health related problems, which involve people, animals and environment.

Dr J.S. Bedi, Director, Centre for One Health, and Co-ordinator of the event told that the Centre for One Health has been focussing on research, teaching and extension activities related to “One Health”. He also said that the centre has been organizing such events in schools from time to time to create awareness among the students, who are the future of our nation.
