NEW DELHI: 2ND NOVEMBER 2022-Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal has saved Dilli Ki Yogshala from being discontinued. He pumped fuel into Yoga Instructors in a special interaction on Wednesday in a bid to enable the classes to start once again. The free Yoga Classes will now restart tomorrow in Delhi. Talking to the instructors, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, "No matter how hard BJP and LG try, we will not let the yoga classes stop in Delhi. Yoga classes will resume all over Delhi from tomorrow, I assure the yoga teachers to not worry, I will pay your salaries. All political forces have come together to stop the model which should have been implemented across the country. Asthma and paralysis patients were getting cured in Dilli Ki Yogshala, but these people want to stop yoga classes. Celebrating International Yoga Day once a year does not promote Yoga, everyone should do yoga every morning, 17,000 people joined yoga classes in Delhi to make it successful."
At the same time, Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia said, "Yoga has become a mass movement under the vision of CM Arvind Kejriwal thanks to all the yoga instructors. Yoga instructors have promised that from tomorrow Yogashala will restart; we will take responsibility of everyone's salary, we will do anything, but will not let anyone deprive Delhi of benefits of yoga."
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “I have come here today to inform you that the yoga classes for the people of Delhi will continue and I request you all to take your classes from tomorrow. I request you all to go to your respective areas from tomorrow and conduct the classes. You do not have to worry about your salaries. I have discussed this matter with several people and I assure you that at the end of the month you will all receive your salaries. The money may come from the Delhi Government or from some organisation or from some crorepati individuals, but the money will come and you will all receive your salaries on time. I am willing to even go around begging for the money, but I assure you that you will all receive your salaries at the end of the month. Whatever happens, the yoga classes must be held regularly.”
He said, “This was a brilliant initiative undertaken by our government. The health facilities in the city have been dramatically improved since the AAP government came into power in Delhi. The Mohalla Clinics started by us have received praise from several other state governments in the country. In fact, from today onwards, we have also started Mahila Mohalla Clinics in the state. We have worked hard to improve the health facilities in the country but at the same time we also had this thought that why should people even need to go to a hospital. We though if we can in some ways keep the people of the city healthy on a daily basis by making them exercise and do yoga then the number of visits to a hospital by a person would decrease.”
He added, “Yoga is something that originated in India and has been popular all over the world. Yet in our country the number of people practising yoga regularly is much lower than what it ideally should be. It is with this thought that we started this unique initiative. Until now, in government institutions, yoga was an event that would be done once a year in front of the cameras to celebrate International Yoga Day. This is not how yoga will research the household of the people. This can only be achieved if we create an initiative where people come out of their houses and practice yoga on a daily basis. For this, we require trained yoga instructors who are willing to teach the people. So, the Delhi Government decided to provide these trained yoga instructors to the people.”
The CM stated, “This initiative had begun in December last year and had been ongoing for the last 11 months. The people had supported it and it was widely successful with 17,000 people joining the initiative. I firmly believe that this was an initiative that could have been replicated all over the country. An unfortunate aspect of our national politics is that whenever a state government does something that is for the benefit of its citizens, instead of appreciating and implementing it in other states, political forces work harder to obstruct the initiative. If something for the benefit of the people is being implemented in Delhi, instead it going to other states such as Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Assam, the thought process becomes ‘Why are people in Delhi getting this benefit, let’s stop them’. This is the reason our country has not been able to progress as much as it should have over the last 75 years since Independence. It is not as if the people of this country are inferior to anyone else. Indians have gone abroad for ages and helped establish industries and academia in other countries.”
He continued, “When Shri Manish Sisodia told me a few days ago that there are forces that are trying to obstruct this program of the Delhi Government, I wondered why anyone would try to do such a thing. Giving citizens free services to practice yoga is a pious thing to do. Why would anyone want to obstruct this? In our Indian traditional thought we say that it is a pious step to educate a poor child or to give medical assistance to a needy person, similarly making people practise yoga is also a pious initiative.”
He added, “The people of Delhi are gathering blessings from their Gods by giving such an initiative to those who need it. There have been reports of people with paralysis or asthma improving their health because of yoga. The people of Delhi are getting the blessings of their Gods by having a unique initiative such as this. This initiative of ours will also go a long way in saving the money of the state government. When a person with a disease goes to the hospital, they spend a lot of money on tests and medicines. When they are healthy they can utilise this money for other better purposes.”
He continued, “It is my responsibility to ensure that this scheme continues and I will do whatever it takes to continue these yoga classes. I do not say this merely as a Chief Minister of Delhi, I say this as a regular citizen of the city. The 2 crore people are one big family and as a big brother of this large family, I assure the people that I will do whatever it takes to make sure that my family stays healthy, and therefore these classes will continue. There are large forces at play and they are trying their absolute best to stop this scheme. This highlights that we have been successful in our plan and that the people of the city are applauding our initiative. Why else would so much focus be on trying to stop it?”
The CM further said, “The Aam Aadmi Party is winning the hearts of the people and therefore the other forces are trying their best to obstruct an initiative that we have organised with so much love and compassion for our citizens. Once again, I request the yoga instructors here to not stop their classes and hold them regularly tomorrow onwards in their designated areas. The response of the people to this initiative has been excellent and I must applaud our yoga instructors for this. The people have appreciated the way the instructors have engaged with them and have been teaching them yoga.”
He concluded, “There are 17,000 people learning yoga with the Delhi Government right now and our aim should be to get 17 lakh people to practise yoga with us. I urge you all to hold as many classes as you can, so that we can have more yoga instructors and eventually yoga reaches each and every citizen of the state and the country. Do not worry about the funding and the salary that you all are to be paid. I will ensure that we bring in the money to pay our yoga instructors. I will approach whoever is required to get the money. The people of the state and country will come forward and donate money if our work is good. Kejriwal will bring the money. People trust Kejriwal and know that if he is asking money for a scheme it has to be a good one.”
At the same time, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia tweeted, "Today in conversation with the yoga instructors of Dilli Ki Yogashala with Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the instructors said that there is a lot of disappointment and anger among the public due to the conspiracy of stop the yoga class. All conspiracies will fail, Shri Arvind Kejriwal will not allow Dilli Ki Yogshala to be stopped under any circumstances. Yoga has become a mass movement under the visionary leadership of Shri Arvind Kejriwal, thanks to all the yoga instructors. All yoga instructors have promised that from tomorrow the yogashala program will be back on track. We will take the responsibility of the salary of all these instructors ourselves. We will do anything, but will not let Delhi be deprived of the benefits of Yoga."
*Yoga teachers shared the pain of the people in the interaction*
Earlier, in the presence of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia interacted with the yoga teachers and inquired about the reaction of the people doing yoga. The Deputy CM said, "CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal had asked the residents of Delhi that if they want to do yoga, then he will provide trained yoga instructors from the government. Shri Arvind Kejriwal has proved it by implementing it. Now it will not be allowed to stop."
The Deputy Chief Minister asked all the teachers where they were getting people to do yoga, and what was the reaction of people after the classes stopped. Yoga teachers said that when people came to know that yogashala was closing, they were very disappointed. "We were also disappointed that we will not go to take yoga classes from tomorrow. Right now messages are coming from people asking when they should come to do yoga. The people doing yoga are asking us not to let the yoga classes stop. Wherever our cooperation is needed, we are ready to give it," a teacher said.
A female yoga instructor told me that she takes yoga classes in the slum area of Trilokpuri. "There at four o'clock in the morning, women used to come to do yoga after finishing their household chores. When they came to know that the yoga class was stopping, the women started crying.”
*Don't do politics on pollution, pollution is not only in Delhi and Punjab, it is in all of northern India, people of Punjab and Delhi are taking all possible steps to curb pollution, Center will have to come forward and find a solution together with all state governments- CM Arvind Kejriwal*
Speaking on the issue of pollution, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “I agree that pollution is a problem, but it is a problem that has affected all of northern India. But it is being shown as a problem only in Delhi and Punjab. A narrative is being created that these two states are the cause of pollution. It is nothing but politics and the Centre is not trying to find a solution for everyone. If you take a look at the pollution data of all the cities across North India, then all the cities of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh are highly polluted at the moment with the air quality index almost the same in all the cities. So is the Aam Aadmi Party the reason behind all these states being polluted? The solution for the issue of pollution has to be found by the Prime Minister of the country. All the states have to come together to fight pollution. Why is the Prime Minister not going out and meeting everyone to find a solution? I can understand the compulsion of the media. The media does not have the courage to ask questions to the Prime Minister. The media is put forward to abuse Kejriwal. If abusing me can solve the pollution problem of the whole country, then it is very good. Abuse me 24 hours. But abusing me will not solve this problem. The BJP workers have been abusing the farmers and asking why the farmers are burning stubble? Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann receives a letter every day from the Center asking how many FIRs have been filed against farmers. Why are you getting so excited to file FIRs against farmers? Why do you want to file FIRs against farmers? When you want roti, rice, vegetables at home, you go to the farmers. Farmers feed you. CM Arvind Kejriwal said that when the Central Government did nothing, the Punjab government sent a proposal and asked the Central Government to give incentives to the farmers. It was said that the Delhi Government should give Rs 500 per acre, the Punjab Government should Rs 500 per acre and the Central Government should give Rs 1500 per acre. But the Central Government rejected the proposal. The Central Government says that we will not do anything for the farmers. It says that these farmers protested against us for two years on the three Farm Bills, and therefore now we are not going to do anything for the farmers. Why does the Central Government and the BJP hate the farmers so much? It is because of this hatred of the BJP for the farmers that there is so much smoke in the air all over northern India. We have to give solution to the farmers. Whatever the Delhi Government can do at its level, we are doing it. We are trying to control dust pollution at our level. We are using water sprinklers to let the dust settle down. Construction work has been stopped. GRAP has been implemented. The Punjab Government is also doing whatever it can at its level. If the Central Government is not successful in controlling pollution, then it should resign. We will take the initiative in solving the problem of pollution forever."
CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted and said, “Don't do politics on pollution. Pollution is not only in Delhi and Punjab, it is in the whole of North India. Don't abuse the farmer. Don't file FIRs against them. People of Punjab and Delhi are taking all steps at their level. The Center will have to come forward and find a solution together with all the state governments.”

NEW DELHI: 2ND NOVEMBER 2022-The Delhi Government under the leadership of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal today launched the revamped version of the ‘One Delhi’ app, an all-in-one mobile app to navigate public transport in Delhi. The app was inaugurated by Transport Minister Shri Kailash Gahlot and Vice Chairperson, Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi, Shri Jasmine Shah. The app is available on both Android and iOS devices.
The ‘One Delhi’ app was envisioned nearly 2 years back by Transport Minister Shri Kailash Gahlot to provide a one-stop shop to address many challenges with accessing the public transport system in Delhi, particularly to provide more reliable and convenient bus services for the people. The major reasons for people not taking a bus for their city travel are lack of knowledge about bus routes and lack of adherence to the time schedule of buses owing to traffic jams. It leads to unreliability while planning one’s travel, unlike metro services which are available at good frequency.
Delhi Government’s primary objective has been to make the bus services more reliable via the ‘One Delhi’ app, with the provision of features like live tracking of over 7300 buses, and finding the exact waiting time of the buses at the bus stop. On top of it, the information on each bus route will enable people to plan their journey to their offices or home in a more reliable manner. The mobile app has been developed by the Delhi government in collaboration with Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi.
*The salient features of the One Delhi App*
Bus Routes and Bus stop information: One can search live buses on 500+ bus routes in Delhi, and locate their nearest bus stops to plan their journey.
Know the arrival time of the buses at any bus stop on a real-time basis
Online Ticket: Buy an E-ticket(s) or Daily pass(es) from the comfort of your seat and get a 10% discount on Online Bus tickets. Women passengers can buy free Pink tickets via the app.
Find an Electric vehicle charger & Battery swapping station near you: Discover from 2200+ Charging points in Delhi, Locate your nearby EV Charging Points, and find Real-time Availability and Cost per unit of the EV Chargers
Feedback/Grievance portal: If you have any complaints in regard to the Bus, be it related to Driver, Conductor, Marshall, Cleanliness of the Bus, Overspeeding or for Bus Queue Shelters and EV chargers, one can “Raise a Complaint” via One Delhi app.
This is just the beginning. Delhi govt’s bigger plan with One Delhi app is to enable services under Multimodal transportation in the city. One platform to book a bus, taxi, Auto or a cycle with an ease of single click.
On this occasion, Transport Minister Shri Kailash Gahlot said, “Under the leadership of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi government's vision has always been to make Public travel more Convenient, Affordable, Reliable, and Safer for the citizens of Delhi. With the launch of All in one Public Transport ‘One Delhi’ app today, it will make Bus travel more Reliable and help in better planning of your city travel. The project was the outcome of 3 years of collaboration between many departments and agencies, like the Transport Department, Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi (DDC), IIIT Delhi, Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS), and Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). I thank DDC for playing the crucial role of ensuring coordination and collaboration across various partners.”
Shri Kailash Gahlot further said, “I request the people to share their feedback and any grievances on the app to help us keep improving our services across Public Transport. Delhi is committed to make the lives of people even more convenient by enabling the booking of more modes of travel under the One Delhi app, in the coming times.”
Vice Chairperson of DDC, Shri Jasmine Shah said, “Today's launch of the revamped One Delhi App marks the beginning of a new era in public transport in Delhi. Delhi has today become the first Indian city to provide live tracking of all its 7300+ buses and 2200+ EV chargers, just like major cities globally. Technologically, it was a complex project and also required the involvement of multiple agencies. I am glad DDC could support the entire end-to-end process from the conceptualisation to the implementation of this app. The launch of the ONE DELHI app also reflects the commitment of the Delhi Government to set new benchmarks in public transport and in its efforts to fight Delhi's air pollution."
CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal later tweeted, “After revolutionising Delhi’s education and health, an important step has been taken today towards making Delhi's transport system world-class. Through 'One Delhi' mobile app, you can live track all buses, book bus tickets and daily passes online, share your feedback, and get all information related to Electric Vehicle chargers.”
