Chandigarh, November 9:Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond today announced that the next phase of Light and Sound Shows, dedicated to the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, will be held on November 11 at Amritsar, Ferozepur, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali), and Sangrur. These shows are being organized by the Punjab Government as part of the ongoing series of events commemorating the sacred occasion.
He said that the show at Amritsar’s Mela Ground, Ranjit Avenue, will be attended by Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. In Ferozepur, the event will take place at the Cantonment Stadium, where Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur will grace the occasion. The Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali) event at Saras Mela Ground will see the presence of Education, Information and Public Relations Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Member of Parliament Malvinder Singh Kang. At Sangrur’s Ranbir College, Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema, Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Aman Arora, Water Resources Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal, and Member of Parliament Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer will attend.
On November 14, shows will be held at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, in the presence of Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Power, Industries and Commerce Minister Sanjeev Arora, and Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian. On the same day, Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat will attend the event at Guru Nanak Stadium, Kapurthala, while Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian will attend the show at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Sri Muktsar Sahib. At Baba Kala Mehar Stadium, Barnala, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Minister Aman Arora, and MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer will grace the occasion.
On November 17, the Light and Sound Show at Police Stadium, Tarn Taran, will be attended by Jails and Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar. In Moga, the event at New Grain Market will be attended by Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, while in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, at the ITI Ground, Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and MP Malvinder Singh Kang will be present. At Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium, Bathinda, Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian and MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer will participate.
On November 20, the Light and Sound Show at Government College, Malerkotla, will feature Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh and Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian. At Charan Ganga Stadium, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and MP Malvinder Singh Kang will attend. At Nehru Memorial College, Mansa, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Water Resources Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal will be present.
Minister Sond said that the purpose of organizing these Light and Sound Shows is to highlight the life, teachings, and supreme sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji for the protection of faith and humanity, so that the younger generation can connect with this glorious legacy.
He further stated that the earlier shows organized in Jalandhar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Faridkot, Fazilka, and Hoshiarpur received an overwhelming response from devotees, who highly appreciated the Punjab Government’s efforts to showcase the rich history and spiritual message of the ninth Sikh Guru.

350TH MARTYRDOM ANNIVERSARY OF SRI GURU TEGH BAHADUR JI: KIRTAN DARBARS AND SPIRITUAL CONGREGATIONS AT SACRED SHRINES IMMERSING DEVOTEES IN DIVINE AMBIENCE
Chandigarh, November 9:In heartfelt respect to the supreme sacrifice of Hind Di Chadar Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the Punjab Government has rolled out an extensive calendar of Kirtan Samagams and spiritual congregations across historic Gurudwaras associated with the sacred footsteps (Charan-chhoh) of the Ninth Sikh Guru. The month-long events, which has begun on November 1 and continue till November 25, resonating with the Guru’s message of self-sacrifice, peace and communal harmony.
An official spokesperson said that the commemorative journey has entered its mid-phase with spiritually charged programmes, bringing together Sangats in large numbers across various districts.
Giving further details, he said that on November 10, Kirtan Samagams will be held at Gurudwara Sahib Seel (Patiala), Gurudwara Sahib Lang (Patiala) and Gurudwara Patshahi Nauvin, Jakhwali (Fatehgarh Sahib). The following day, November 11, holy congregations will take place at Gurudwara Sahib Harpalpur and Gurudwara Sahib Agaul (Patiala) alongside Gurudwara Sri Nauvi Patshahi, Kalour (Fatehgarh Sahib).
The spiritual fervour will continue on November 12 with gatherings at Gurudwara Sahib Kale Ke, Sri Amritsar Sahib; Gurudwara Sahib Magar Sahib (Patiala) and Gurudwara Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Bassi Pathana (Fatehgarh Sahib). The same day, devotees will assemble at Gurudwara Sri Manji Sahib Nauvin Patshahi, Mullowal (Sangrur) and Bhai Maha Singh Diwan Hall, Sri Muktsar Sahib.
At these sacred places, Gurbani Kirtan, Katha Vichar Samagams and Ardas will immerse devotees in the divine teachings of Guru Sahib, whose unparalleled sacrifice for the protection of faith and human dignity continues to inspire humanity, he added.

Foolproof security arrangements for polling at Tarn Taran Bye election by ECI: CEO
- 12 companies of CAPF deployed, largest deployment ever by ECI in any bye election
- 46 Micro observers will cover all the critical polling station locations
Chandigarh, November 9:In view of the sensitivity of the Border district of Tarn Taran, in which Bye poll is going to be held for Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency on 11.11.25, Election Commission of India (ECI) had made foolproof security arrangements through District Election machinery and had finalized the deployment plan in consultation with Observers deployed by ECI.
Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C informed that 12 Companies of Central armed Police Forces (CAPF) have been deployed in the Assembly Constituency, which is one of the largest deployment of CAPF ever by ECI in any bye election.
The CEO also said that as per the Deployment plan, all 114 Polling station Locations, covering 222 Polling Stations will be covered by CAPF. Apart from CAPF, all Polling stations will have CCTV cameras with webcasting which will be closely monitored at Returning officer, DEO and CEO level under overall supervision and monitoring of ECI. He added that all the critical polling station locations will also be covered by 46 Micro observers.
CEO Punjab also informed that all the assured Minimum facilities have been provided in all 222 Polling stations and assured that any violation of law and order will be dealt strongly by the election machinery. He further urged all the voters of AC Tarn Taran to come forward and exercise their franchise freely and fearlessly during Polling to be held on 11.11.25 from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm.
