Chandigarh, 7 February: The Personality Development Cell and Equal Opportunity Cell of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised an awareness session on ‘Mindfulness and Emotional Balance’ with the objective of promoting emotional resilience, rational thinking, and mental well-being among students in today’s fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

The session was conducted by Mr. Kanwaljit Singh, Founder and CEO of Proftrain Mentors, Poshprofs Trainers LLP, and Pious Freights and Trucking Pvt. Ltd., who offered students an insightful understanding of the human side of success. Through interactive discussions and real-life examples, he highlighted how internal dialogue influences responses to stress and challenges. He also elaborated on common patterns of irrational thinking that hinder personal and professional growth and intensify stress. A major highlight of the session was the introduction of the ABCDEF Model of Resilience (Adversity, Beliefs, Emotional Consequences, Disputation, Effective New Rational Belief, and New Feeling)- a practical framework for managing adversity. Emphasising empathy and action, Mr. Singh encouraged students to shift from asking “Why is this happening to me?” to “How can I overcome this?”. He further addressed the Fear of Failure (FOF), underscoring that positivity is a habit nurtured through clarity, self-awareness, and recognition of one’s strengths. The session witnessed active participation from 67 students, who found the interaction engaging and empowering.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the initiative and remarked that such sessions are instrumental in nurturing emotionally balanced, confident, and resilient individuals, equipping students with essential life skills beyond the classroom.
