CHANDIGARH,15.03.23-The Department of Mass Communication at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, under the aegis of the college's Institution Innovation Council (IIC), organised a visit to the office of a national English daily.

The visit envisioned to provide the budding journalists experiential knowledge of the working of a newspaper organisation. The visit began with a stimulating interactive session with the Editor of the newspaper, that witnessed discussion on a wide range of topics including a day in the life of an Editor, online journalism, ethics in journalism, the essential qualities of a journalist, and much more. This was followed by a tour of the newsroom wherein a Senior News Editor interacted with the students. Thereafter, the students were shown the press where they got to know about the newspaper printing process.

The over 43 students who were part of the visit found it highly informative as they witnessed the working of newspaper organisation from close quarters.

Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava expressed appreciation for this initiative to provide students insights into the world of print journalism. She added that it is a matter of pride that the college ranks among the top Mass Communication institutions of the country.
