CHANDIGARH, 13.03.23-Adding another feather to its cap, Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, won team gold for Panjab University, Chandigarh at the All India Interuniversity Gymnastics Competitions held at Panjab University. Four students of the college, namely, Sushmita Haldar, Tamanna Sharma, Khushi and Sandhya were part of the Panjab University team which won the overall team Championship. The students of the college won 1 Gold, 2 Silver, 1 Bronze and all round 1st position under women's category. Susmita Haldar won Gold medal in Table Vault, Silver medal in Uneven bar and Bronze medal in Balancing beam. She was declared all round 1st in the women's category. Tamanna Sharma won Silver medal in Table vault.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava congratulated the Physical Education Department of the college and the winners for bringing laurels to the college. She informed that in keeping with its tradition of excellence in various areas, the college is doing exceptionally well in the field of sports as well and its students like Team India cricketers Taniya Bhatia, Harleen Kaur, Amanjot and Ridhima, have won international and national accolades.
