CHANDIGARH, 25.11.22-Sh Dharam Pal Adviser wecomed the journalist comunity in Press Conference and told "The Department of Tourism, Chandigarh Administration is organising Chandigarh Carnival from 2nd to 4th December, 2022 at Open Ground opposite Museum & Art Gallery, Sector 10, Chandigarh".

Sh Dharam Pal further said "During this festival various fun and flora activities including setting up of amusement park, day cultural programmes including three Mega Musical Nites are also being organized as a part of celebration".

During the Press Conference Hargunjit Kaur Director Tourism Chandigarh Administration interacted with the members of print and electronic Press and told "As a part of event, the department is also organizing day cultural programme from 2nd to 4th December, 2022 at New Lake, Sector 42, Chandigarh and Morning Raga on 3rd and 4th December, 2022 at Botanical Garden and Sukhna Lake respectively with classical artists".

She further expressed the details of the event.

What makes it different from Previous Carnivals

The Carnival, 2022 from 2nd to 4th December, 2022 is to be celebrated after 2019. In the year 2020 and 2021, the carnival was not celebrated due to Covid-19 pandemic.
This year the Department is organizing Morning Raga on 3rd December, 2022 at Botanical Garden and on 4th December, 2022 at Sukhna Lake.
The Day Cultural Programme will also be organized at New Lake, Sector 42, Chandigarh from 10:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. with artists of different States i.e. from Gujarat, Assam, Sikkim, Manipur, TamilNadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana etc. The stage will be open for public in which amateur artists can perform and show their talent.
This year the Theme of Carnival, 2022 is “Apna Shehar Apna Jashan”.
The Carnival Parade will be organized from Open Ground opposite Museum & Art Gallery, Sector 10 to New Lake, Sector 42, Chandigarh with 75 nos. of Dholis.
Accidental Prone Jhullas i.e. Giant Wheel, Columbus Boat, Break dance, Ranger, Tower Jhulla etc. will not be installed due to safety of public/visitors.
Kite display on 3rd December, 2022 and Kite Competition on 4th December, 2022 on the Theme “आओ उड़ चले हम।“ at New Lake, Sector 42, Chandigarh.
