As part of 9th Rashtriya POSHAN Maah 2026, a series of nutrition and awareness activities were organised at Behlana, Dhanas Milk Colony and Industrial Circle, Sector 18 with active participation of children, pregnant women and families.

In his address, the Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, said that the Administration was working to address issues related to education, sports infrastructure, the proposed college in Manimajra and other public services.

Shri Brar directed the concerned departments to carry out their assigned roles and responsibilities and ensure close coordination for the smooth conduct of the conference.

Under the ECCE component of POSHAN Maah, learning activities were organised for children at Kaimbwala. Anganwadi Workers actively engaged the children through various games, rhymes and interactive learning activities.

Speaking on the occasion, the ADC-cum-Secretary said that the Chandigarh Red Cross is committed to undertaking welfare initiatives for the well being of senior citizens and providing them with safe and comfortable spaces for social interaction.

Across the two camps, 100 workers received information about the Board’s schemes, and 60 applied for new registration. Eligible construction workers who could not attend may contact the Board’s office for details of the registration process and required documents.

Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav IAS, District Magistrate, U.T., Chandigarh, reiterated that no encroachment on Government land would be tolerated and stated that the Administration would continue to take necessary action, as per law, against unauthorised occupation and illegal structures on Government land.
