Six persons arrested for disobeying orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh

A case FIR No. 58, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh against Naveen Rohilla R/o # 2138/A, Sector-20C, Chandigarh who was arrested while roaming without wearing face mask and disobeying orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh near parking Math Mandir, Sector-20, Chandigarh on 30.06.2020. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 115, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh against Firoj Khan R/o # 1435/12, Sector-29B, Chandigarh who was arrested while roaming without wearing face mask and disobeying orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh near Govt. School, Sector-29B Chandigarh on 30.06.2020. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 137, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh against Gaurav Sharma R/o # 3263/1, Sec-47D, Chandigarh who was arrested while roaming in curfew hours without permission and disobeying orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh at Park near Ram Mandir, Sector-47D, Chandigarh on 30.06.2020. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 138, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh against Himanshu Upadhyay R/o # 648, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh who was arrested while roaming in curfew hours without permission and disobeying orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh near CITCO turn, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh on 30.06.2020. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 139, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh against Balmik Nishad R/o # 1410, Village Faidan, Chandigarh who was arrested while roaming in curfew hours without permission and disobeying orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh near Laddi Gurudwara, Village Bair Majra Road, Chandigarh on 30.06.2020. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 140, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh against Rahul R/o # 271, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh who was arrested while roaming in curfew hours without permission and disobeying orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh near Bus Stand, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh on 30.06.2020. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of case is in progress.

MV Theft

Manohar Lal R/o # 2238/83, Street No. 8A, Shanti Nagar, Manimajra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH04-F-2943 parked near his residence on the night intervening 26/27-06-2020. A case FIR No. 96, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chd. Residents Returning from Abroad, U.T Chandigarh

As per the Standard Operating Protocol (SOP) issued by Chandigarh Administration, all foreign returnees have to, immediately on arrival, undergo seven days of mandatory institutional quarantine at an approved facility on payment basis followed by further seven days of home isolation, in case the person tests negative for Covid-19 during the first seven days of arrival.

Family members of persons who are arriving from abroad are requested to share their particulars in advance on the portal of Chandigarh Administration for foreign returnees under URL http://chandigarh.gov.in/info-foreign.htm as well as with the office of the Nodal Officer Sh. Shashank Anand, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Security & Traffic, Chandigarh by email at psspst@chd.nic.in or by phone at 0172-274007 & 2749797 so that necessary arrangements for bringing the passengers to Chandigarh from airports and their institutional quarantine could be made in a timely manner.

Further, it is hereby informed that family members of foreign returned persons are NOT allowed to receive them at airport. Passengers returning from abroad are being brought toChandigarhby road in authorized transport on payment basis. It is also advised to such persons not to book connecting domestic flights to reachChandigarhon arrival inIndia.

Any person who violates the above said provisions will be liable for legal action under section 51 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 (punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two year or with fine, or with both), under section 3 of Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 and under sections 188, 269, 270 & 271 of Indian Penal Code (punishable with six months imprisonment or Rs.1000/- fine or both) as the case may be.

It is further informed that 424 persons have arrived in Chandigarhas per protocol, since 8th May, 2020 till 1st July, 2020 under the Vande Bharat Mission. Out of these, only two persons have tested positive for COVID-19.
