CHANDIGARH,05.06.20-Social Substance in collaboration with Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Punjab celebrated World Environment Day 2020. Celebrations marked by documenting a ‘Waste to Wealth’ initiative at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sector 25, Chandigarh. A videography was recorded of initiatives taken by Ms. Madhu Singh, SST Teacher at the school. In an interview she showcased number of articles made from waste including an owl, a penguin, a peacock, a squirrel, a sparrow etc. from pine cones. She used all types of waste including shoe box, plastic bottles, straws, cloth, twigs, paper mash, flower bouquet leftover, metals, stones etc. She requested all the parents to let their wards learn the skill from waste to wealth.

Mr. Subhasis Neogi, renowned artist and social worker who was visiting to set up ties with the school appreciated the efforts and applauded the open air model developed from waste for educational purpose. An equilibrium, a Budha groove, Glaciers etc. all were made from waste material collected from place itself. Dr. Arun Bansal, Social Substance convened the events and asked all its viewers and readers to follow the buzz ‘Waste to Wealth.’
