Chandigarh,22.11.12:“Dreamland” being the main theme, the three-days carnival shall showcase creativity and imagination revolving around fantasies and dreams in terms of activity based stalls more than 40  being put up College of Architecture, Home Science College , Chandigarh Sangeet Kala Akademi, Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi erc. Sralls shall also be put up by Le Corbusier centre to showcase the souvenir of Chandigarh . Cartoon characters cutouts like micky mouse, Donald duck , batman and many other similar dream characters be put across the Carnival Village  which shall give a colourful out look  to the theme village. The entrance gate has been made with varied three dimensional structure and arches to welcome the visitors to the Carnival.  More than 40 activity stalls will be set up at the  Carnival Village. Most of the stalls shall have interesting features including stall where the visitors shall get analytical glimpse of their dreams and imaginations. The Dreamland theme based Carnival Village shall have an amusement Park, Food Stalls of various cuisines, CITCO Da Vehra shall have special Punjabi authentic food in midst of village environment.  A mini rock Garden is being set up as a special attraction large number of other stalls which shall have attractive and interesting features for children and visitors.

Chandigarh College of Arts  shall have innovative tableau during the carnival parade which shall have all possible fantasy and Disneyland’s cartoon characters like Tom and Jerry, Micky Mouse and other imaginative characters and models.

According to Shri D.K. Tiwari, Secretary Tourism, the idea of this year’s carnival theme is to bring out the best of imaginative innovations and creativity to be showcased in this mega Tourism Event of Chandigarh. The three days carnival will be full of fun and frolic. The carnival village shall showcase the tradition and culture of North Eastern States, in the Film City being set up by ITFT Sikkim Mask Dance performance will be a special attraction on the inaugural day of Carnival - 23rd November, 2012 at 7-00 P.M.  in the evening.  

Popular Punjabi singer – Satinder Sarttaj will perform on Saturday – 24th November, 2012.  Renowned bollywood singer – Ms. Alka Yagnik will perform on 25th November, 2012 at Leisure Valley, Sector 10, Chandigarh

According to Director Tourism – Ms. Tanvi Garg, the cultural dancing and singing groups have been invited by NZCC for day long performances.  There will be a display of Vintage Cars opposite the Carnival Village in the Museum and Art Gallery as a special attraction for tourists/visitors.  A cultural international group from Poland has been invited for performance with the support of Public Relations Society of India, Chandigarh Chapter. 

Preparations are under way at the Carnival Village in Leisure Valley in Sector 10, Chandigarh for grand mega event scheduled from Friday.
