New Delhi, 28th November 2015: The grand opening of ‘Korea Festival 2015 – Lively Jeollabuk-do, the essence of Korea’ at Select CITYWALK Saket was a mesmerising moment. The collaborative effort of Korean Cultural Centre India and South Korea’s Jeollabuk-do Province Council, with the involvement of Indian dignitaries at New Delhi clearly indicates that there is lot to happen between Korea and India. Dr. Udit Raj – Member of Parliament, Pramod Jain – Joint Secretary Ministry of Culture, Kim Kum Pyong – Director Korean Cultural Centre India, and Sang Soo Koo – President Korean Association in India declared the two day festival open.

Pramod Jain said that both the countries Korea and India have always enjoyed civilizational and cultural exchanges over the years not and this bond is increasing day by day. Korea Festival in India will not only bring the people of both the countries together but will also open up many new opportunities for cultural exchange and beyond.

 Kum-Pyoung KIM, Director, Korea Cultural Centre said that people of India now know more about Korea and its culture than ever before. People have more opportunity to explore about Korea as this festival is showcasing Korean traditional and contemporary entertainment, food and is exhibiting products. This festival will give another height to strengthen the relationship between Korea and India.

 Stating that Korea is one of the most progressive countries in terms of technology, economic development and consciousness towards environment, Dr. Udit Raj appreciated Korea for the development it achieved in very short span of time.

 The festival celebration started with a magnificent Calligraphy performance by Song Dong-Ok which was followed by Jeollabuk Traditional Dance performance by ‘Jeollabuk-do Provincial Institute for Performing Arts’. The performances were captivating charming acts as they pictorially described human life in its full glory.

 The festival had the flavours of Korean Tourism Organisation, Korea Association, KOTRA, various Korean companies and restaurants providing a true South Korean experience at the venue. Further lies in the line Comic Martial Art Jump, Beautiful Haanji Fashion Show, electrifying musical show by K-Pop some more traditional Dance performances. The Festival will continue over Sunday from 11:00 A.M  to 9:00 P.M.
