Chandigarh, 28th November, 2021: A free Ayurveda Medical Check-up Camp was held at Chandigarh Press Club here. The free medical camp was organised by Chandigarh Press Club in association with Shuddhi Wellness Clinics & Hospitals and HIIMS (Hospital & Institute of Integrated Medical Sciences, Dera Bassi). The camp was followed by a talk by renowned Ayurveda Expert Guru Manish on Healthy Living as recommended in Ayurveda and Naturopathy.

Guru Manish, Founder, Shuddhi Ayurveda, while delivering a health talk on healthy living, said, "Ayurveda has the power of curing all diseases. It's fast also if followed well. There is a difference between 'Bhojan' and 'Khana'. Bhojan includes fruits, salad like raw cut tomatoes, kheera, sprouts, etc; while 'Khana' includes regular food like rotis, chawal etc. He said that 'Bhojan' should be adopted in one's routine instead of 'Khana' to increase immunity to fight diseases like COVID and dengue. He also termed the pandemic 'planned-demic' and said that Ayurvedic herbs are there to help you lead a healthier life.”

Meanwhile a team of qualified doctors including Dr Rachna, Dr Manjit singh, Dr Shivangi and Dr Komal conducted the medical check-ups. More than 100 media people & their families got their health examined at the camp. The process of medical examination included checking the vitals, taking down history and distribution of some basic medications then and there. The beneficiaries needing a follow up were advised to visit Shuddhi Wellness Clinics at Sector 44 or Baltana or HIIMS, Dera Bassi.

Guru Manish further said, “Millets like Kangni, Hari Kangni, Sanva, Kodo and Kutki can be included in the diet instead of wheat and rice, not only to stay healthy but also to avoid many diseases. These are the basic cereals, followed by bajra, ragi, gram, jowar and maize. Millets or coarse grains are capable of keeping the body healthy and disease free, as they are rich in calcium, phosphorus, iron, protein and minerals. In Naturopathy, decoction (kaadha) prepared from Guava, Peepal and Giloy leaves works as a herbal medicine. Positive thinking is also important along with yoga and meditation.”

Guru Manish informed that under the aegis of Shuddhi Wellness Clinics & Hospitals, many HIIMS Nature Cure Clinics in the North region have been established and the plan is to expand these across India. These will be medicine free clinics and patients will be treated through naturopathy, panchkarma and introduction of a millets based diet.

He said that the kind of wheat we consume is genetically modified. Instead of it, if we include nutritious millets alternately in our diet, the problem of diabetes could be reduced within a week or two, and blood pressure also comes under control within two to four weeks.
