Chandigarh, November 12-Extensively engaged and dedicated organization in the field of Art and Culture, Pracheen Kala Kendra is going to revive its iconic Monthly baithks series after a gap of one year

Kendra’s 269th Baithak is studded with wonderful Satriya Dance by talented young danseuse Dimpi Borah followed by Mohan veena recital by Young and talented Neelav Ranjan Sarmah. The last item was Tabla Solo by prominent Tabla exponent Kaushik Konwar. The program took place at M.L. Koser Indoor Auditorium of the Kendra. The programme was also live on the social media mediums of the Kendra like official YouTube and face book page.

Program begin with Satriya Dance by Dimpi Borah. She commenced her recital with Krishna Vandana followed by famous Jumura Nirtya of Assam. She concluded her recital with Gopi aur Geet which was highly appreciated by audience. Expression and dance moves of Dimpi were praiseworthy and won the heart of audience

After Dimpi , Neelav Ranjan took the centre stage. He is disciple of Padmabhushan Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt and Pt. Salil Bhatt. He begin with Raag Vishwaranjini (Creation of Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt ji) with traditional aalap, jod and jhala. This was followed by Vilambit gat and drut gat . He concluded his recital with a melodic dhun. He was ably accompanied by Kaushik Konwar on Tabla.

There was another energetic solo performance by Kaushik Konwar. He presented traditional Tode, Tukre Kaide , rele in teen taal and amidst thunderous applause.

In the end artists were honored with bouquet , memento and uttriyas.

The captivating concert concluded with bandish in raga Khamaj. Chandrima’s urge for graceful expressions, however, was best displayed during this crisp piece of bandish.

The rhythm on the tabla was marked by young and talented percussionist Zuheb Khan.
