Crispy Moong dal Pakode
Ingredients –
1/2 cup green moong dal

1/2 cup yellow moong dal

1 tbsp coriander seeds

1 tbsp fennel seeds

1 tsp cumin seeds

2tsp black peppercorns

1 tsp cloves

1 cup fresh coriander

1/2 cup grated raw potato

1/2 cup sliced onions

1tbsp grated ginger

2 chopped green chilis

1tbsp red chili powder

1 tsp salt

1 tsp black salt

1/8 tsp hing

1/8 tsp baking soda

Method –

Wash and soak both dals for 3-4 hours.

Remove extra water from soaked dal, take a handful dal and keep aside, rest dal transfers in a mixer jar and prepare a fine, thick paste.

Transfer dal paste in a bowl and beat the paste with your hand. Keep aside.

Add coriander seeds, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, black peppercorns, cloves in a pan, dry roast on low flame for 1-2 minutes. Allow to cool and grind in a mixer jar in a coarse powder.

Add a handful of soaked dal, prepared masala, fresh coriander, red chilli powder, black salt, salt, hing, baking soda, grated potatoes, sliced onion and mix nicely.

Prepare small lemon size balls from the mixture and deep fry in medium hot oil on medium high flame. Fry till they become dark brown or crispy from outside.

Take them out and enjoy crispy moong dal pakodas with fried green chilis and green chutney.
