CHANDIGARH,05.10.21-National Orthodontist Day (5th October)celebrations started with early morning public awareness drive at Sukhna Lake ,Chandigarh. Orthodontic study group of Chandigarh organised this event and public was made aware about the speciality of Orthodontics and various myths about braces.

Braces treatment are possible at all ages and children should be shown to an Orthodontist as early as 8 years so that developing malocclusion can be prevented or intercepted. Awareness about adult orthodontics was also told as more adults have started accepting braces treatment due to shorter durations,braces becoming invisible and more patient friendly.

Dr Sarabjeet Singh,Vice President of Indian Orthodontic Society addressed the general public along with Dr S P Singh,Head of Unit of Orthodontics,PGI, Chandigarh and Dr Deepak Gupta,Professor and Head,Deptt of Orthodontics ,HS Judge Dental College,sector 25 .

More than 40 prominent Orthodontist of the region were present on this occasion
