DEHRADUN,07.03.21-On Sunday, 29th International Yoga Festival, Rishikesh concluded successfully at Ganga Resort. All Yoga Gurus, artists and other attendees acknowledged the efforts of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board and the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam in maintaining good facilities on all 7 days at the respective venues for yoga and for cultural performances.

During the festival, the morning started with many world famous Yoga gurus who taught ancient yogic techniques and spiritual ways of living a healthy life to all. Then The folk artists of Uttarakhand performed on the melodious tunes and showcased the amazing culture of the state. At night the famous vocalists and bands of Bollywood Industry performed and entertained the present audience.

On this occasion, Tourism Minister Shri Satpal Maharaaz said, "Yoga has an unprecedented contribution in the health tourism of the state. Every year tons of people from all over the world come here to learn and practice the same. Our government is committed to making Uttarakhand state the center of yoga. Festival with this magnitude is an important positive step in the right direction."

Tourism Secretary Mr. Dilip Jawalkar said, "I congratulate all stakeholders for the successful conclusion of International Yoga Day during the corona period and I thank all the participants for following the guidelines issued by the government."

President of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Mahavir Singh Rangad said, "Yoga is our ancient civilization. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has contributed a lot in its promotion. As a result the people's curiosity towards yoga has increased not only in the country but in the world. Rishikesh and Munikirati have become famous in the world as Yoganagari. People come here to learn Yoga and then teach all around the world."

Acharya Balakrishna of Patanjali Yogpeeth attended the festival and said, "Yoga has a very special value in everyday's life. Its continuous practice improves over immunity and helps us in physical and mental challenges. This is not a discourse or a narrative, but an experimental art. Practicing yoga in difficult times like Covid has not only increased your immune from flu and virus but even helps in staying away from depression and anxieties."

Further he appreciated the efforts of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council and added that events like this will lead our rich heritage of Yoga and Ayurveda to new heights in all over the world.
