Action against disobeying of orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh

A case FIR No. 137, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh against Sh. Balwinder Singh Bhunder R/o # 254, Sector 11, Chandigarh and Sh. Bikramjit Singh Majithia R/o Punjab MLA Hostel, Sector 4, Chandigarh and 35 others who were arrested for violating/disobeying orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh near Golf turn, Chandigarh on 07.08.2020. Later all were released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Sanjeet Kumar R/o Vill-Nabhadih PO-Mathurapur, PS-Sikandara, Distt- Jamui, Bihar (age 34 years) and recovered 10 Kg & 100 gm Ganja from his possession near Community Centre, Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on 07.08.2020. A case FIR No. 167, U/S 20 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Sarwan Kumar, Manager, Reliance Digital, Shop No. 247, 2nd floor, Elante Mall, Ph-1, Ind. Area, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away digital watch from the counter of the above shop on 03-08-2020. A case FIR No. 155, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

A boy resident of Sector-56, Chandigarh reported that 2 unknown persons occupants of motorcycle snatched away complainant’s mobile phone from in front of his residence on 06.08.2020. A case FIR No. 249, U/S 379A, 356, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Anup Sharma R/o # 1023, Sector-37/B, Chandigarh reported that 2 unknown persons occupants of motorcycle snatched away complainant’s Gold Chain near T-Point, Sector-37/B Park near # 462 Sec-37/A, Chandigarh on 07.08.2020. A case FIR No. 250, U/S 379A, 356, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

DRUG PEDDLERS

Cracking the whip on the drug paddlers, on 07.08.2020, a team of Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police headed by Sub Inspector Ashok Kumar, under the supervision of Insp. Harinder Singh Sekhon, and close guidance of Sh. Rajiv Kumar Ambasta, DANIPS, DSP Crime has succeeded in apprehending one drug paddler namely Sanjeet Kumar s/o Sh. Dawarika Parsad r/o VIllage- Navadih, Tehsil-Muthurapur, Distt-Jamui, Bihar, age-34 yrs. While this team was on patrolling duty in the area of Police Station-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh with regard to prevention and control of crime near Community Center, Vikash Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. At 8.00 PM, one person coming on foot near Community Center left side of police party and carrying white colour plastic Katta on his right solder and on seeing police party, he tried to run away. On the basis of suspicion, he was apprehended by the team officials. On being checked, contraband drugs 10 KG & 100 grams Ganja was found from his possession. Consequently, case FIR No.167 dated 07.08.2020 u/s 20 NDPS Act, Police Station- Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh has been registered against drug peddler Sanjeet Kumar s/o Sh. Dawarika Parsad. During the course of investigation, it revealed that drug peddler Sanjeet Kumar was supplying illegal liquor from Chandigarh to Bihar and in lieu of it, he brought contraband drugs Ganja from there in Chandigarh. During the course of investigation, efforts will be made to ascertain the sources of recovered contraband drugs and name of person (s), whom, it to be sold in tricity by arrested accused.

Police station 31 team got a breakthrough in snatching case

Police station 31 team got a breakthrough in snatching case under the supervision of SHO/31 with the arrest of two accused namely Amandeep S/o Manjit Singh R/o Village Jatana Tehsil Chamkaur Shaib Distt Rup Nagar Age 26 Yrs. and Gurwinder S/o Gurmukh Singh Village Jagatpur Tehsil ChamkaurShaib DisttRopar Punjab Age 25 Yrs.

Complainant Ms Bilora Devi W/o Sh. Gobind Ram R/o H. NO. 2302 Sector 31/C, Chd (Servant Quarters) reported that On 06.08.2020 at about 5.00 PM, she was walking in front of her house, suddenly, two motorcyclists came near to her and one of them came to her and asked about some address. Suddenly he snatched her mobile make Samsung and ran away from the spot along with other co accomplice on motorcycle. She stated that she could identify the both accused.

During the course of investigation, above said accused were arrested in this case on 07.08.2020. Snatched mobile phone and one motorcycle bearing PB 12 U 5964 have been recovered from their possession. One day police remand obtained from the Hon’ble Court.

MODUS OPRENDI :-

Both the accused are drug addicts and to meet their daily drug need they do petty theft and petty crimes. They target mostly elderly people or ladies on aloof roads.
