CHANDIGARH,22.05.20-In order to professional competence, the Chandigarh police are committed to its motto “We Care For You”. Today in a rare example of brotherhood among the different communities Sh Sanjay Baniwal, IPS, DGP Chandigarh Police alongwith Sh. Omvir Bisnoai, IPS, DIG, Sh Ram Gopal DSP CID and Sh Dilsher Singh, SDPO/East and other Police officers reached out to religious and other representatives of Muslim Community namely Molana Ajmal Khan of Jama Masjid Sector-20, Kari Shamsher of Masjid Sector-45 and Imam Mohd. Imran of Masjid Manimajra, UT Chandigarh, Hazi Khurshid, Municipal Councillor, Azmat Chaudhary, Anwar-Ul-Haq, Basir Khan President Jammu Kashmir Labour, Ram Darbar, Mohd. Sadiq, Ali Ahmed, Hazi Zahir, Wasim, Imran and Noor Mohd at Zama Maszid Sector-20, Chandigarh and given 7-quintal ‘Seviyan’ as a gesture of humanity for further distribution by them in Muslim community and Maszids of Chandigarh as well as tri-city on the occasion of last Friday in this Ramjan Month to celebrate up-coming EID to be held on 25.05.2020. This unique move will definitely cement the brotherhood relationships and communal harmony among the communities, especially in Muslims, not only in Chandigarh but in the whole country.

The religious leaders of Muslim Community also pay their respect to the move of the Chandigarh Police and presented a Bouquet to the Sh. Sanjay Baniwal, IPS, DGP Chandigarh, Sh. Om Vir Singh, IPS, DIG Chandigarh and Sh. Ram Gopal DSP/CID on the occasion as a token of affection.

The Muslim religious leaders have decided that no one will come to the Masjid for offering Namaj on EID i.e on 25.05.2020 rather they have to offer their Namaj at their homes only, which is a welcome step in fight together against the pandemic COVID-19. Kari Shamsher also said that it is the first time after the Independence that the Muslim Community is not coming in Masjids to offer Namaj on the eve of EID, which is an example in the interest of our Country and humanity because pandemic worldwide Corona virus does not recognised any religion, caste, colour, race. Therefore, we are all together in fight against dreaded COVID-19 and not to visit Masjid on the eve of EID. In order to ensure it Molanas of the Masjids will also give a message during Ajaan to all the members of Muslim community to offer Namaj at their Homes only and not to visit Masjids on the eve of EID.
