One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Rajesh R/o # Village Kirali, Distt. Faridabad (HR) alongwith car No.CH01Y-7460 on 09.04.2020 and recovered 22 boxes of country wine from his possession near Bus Stand, Maloya, Chandigarh on 09.04.2020 and also disobeyed the curfew orders. A case FIR No. 52, U/S 188 IPC & 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.


A case FIR No. 56, U/S 457, 380 IPC has been registered in PS-Maulijagran, Chandigarh on the complaint of Pardeep Kumar R/o # Jiho Julahi, Distt. Guradaspur (PB) reported that unknown person who stole away one LCD, one Camera, one DVR, one car battery and 267 boxes of English and country made liquor from his wine shop, Both No. 30, Mauli complex, Chandigarh by breaking the back wall. Investigation of case is in progress.


A case FIR No. 54, U/S 325, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-3, Chandigarh on the complaint of Satnarayan R/o # 510, Sector-10, Chandigarh against Pawan Kumar and Suresh Yadav both resident of Sector 10, Chandigarh who beaten to complainant at his residence on 08.04.2020. Both accused arrested in this case. Investigation of case is in progress.


Illegally having opened their shops of non essential items and selling items

Today i.e. 10.04.2020, three shop owners were arrested for illegally having opened their shops of non essential items and selling items from therewith.

Secret information was received from a source that 3 non essential item shops are open in DMC area. Subsequently SHO Maloya and staff immediately reached the spot in a covert manner and found that the 3 shops were actually open and were found selling on the spot also.

As by the order of DC, non essential item shops cannot be opened, FIR U/S 188 was levied against these 3 shop owners.


Clinic posing as a doctor, without possessing any qualifications or license

Chandigarh police has arrested a man namely Om Prakash S/o Badri Ram R/o 435, Village Daddu Majra Chandigarh for running a clinic posing as a doctor, without possessing any qualifications or license for it.

On 09.04.2020, Inderjeet Singh (appointed as Special Executive Magistrate during lockdown period) along with SHO Maloya and police staff, while on general duty round, generally checked a clinic, namely Deepa clinic with sign board of Dr. Om Prakash. On enquiring about documents/degree/registration, he admitted that he didn’t have any. Further enquiry revealed that he had been operating this clinic from the past one month, falsely impersonating himself as a doctor. He had been a compounder earlier and having learnt the trade, started posing himself as a doctor and opened this clinic.

As this poses a great risk to public health and safety, a FIR U/S 419 IPC, Section 15 Medical Council Act 1956 and Section 23 Punjab Medical Registration Act, 1916 was made out against him.
