Chandigarh, Mar 13- Four cadets from NCC’s No.1 Chandigarh Air Squadron have been recommended to join the Armed forces as commissioned officers during the current training year. This is in addition to four cadets from the squadron who joined the forces during the last training year.

Chandigarh NCC Group Commander BrigadierRanjit Singh paid an inspection visit to the squadron here on Friday.

The unit’s commanding officer Group Captain MR Pandeya said, the city’s Air Wing cadets have excelled and represented Chandigarh at many National & International level competitive events. Recently five cadets represented the city beautiful in Republic day Parade Camp in January 2020 at Delhi. Cadet TanuJarwalcommanded the Guard of Honour contingent during visit of Chief of Air Staff to RD Camp 2020 at Delhi. Cadet Aditi was adjudged the “All India Second Best Cadet” award at National level during RD Camp 2020.

Apart from reviewing the unit’s training activities, Brigadier Ranjit visited the aeromodeling section and took stock of the projects being undertaken there including Flight Simulator for cadets to experience near actual flying and understand flying before actual flying on Microlite.

He interacted with other officersand staff members of the unit. Congratulating the unit for excellent achievements in 2019-20, Brigadier Ranjit emphasised the role of the NCC in the personality development of the youth and motivating them to become disciplined citizens.
