Chandigarh 07 Mar 20, : A fresh chapter in the history of Chandigarh Air Sqn NCC when its ex Air Wing Cadet from Chandigarh namely Cadet Senior Under Officer Vaibhav Mahajan commanded a spectacular passing out parade and received kudos for his performance by all those who witnessed the parade at Officers Training Academy Chennai.

Cadet Senior Under officer Vaibhav Mahajan was Airwing NCC cadet of Chandigarh from 2014 to 2017. Vaibhav did his tenth class from Army School Bakloh cantt and later did his BSc from PGGC, Sector 11, Chandigarh.

During his three years training with NCC, he represented Chandigarh in Republic Day Parade 2016 and represented India at Moscow, Russia as part of Youth Exchange Programme from 17 – 23 Oct 2017.

Speaking on the occasion, Group Captain M R Pandeya Commanding Officer NCC Air wing Chandigarh congratulated Vaibhav on his exceptional performance and said, “National Cadet Corps stressed that making leaders of our younger generation is a task of the highest importance because it would be in the national interest to have resourceful and dynamic youngsters to take on the challenges of the future”.

Vaibhav bagged second position and has been awarded with Silver Medal by Admiral Karambir Singh, Chief of the Naval Staff for his overall performance during 49 weeks of long training at academy which came to an end today after Passing Out Parade at parade ground of Officers Training Academy Chennai. A total of 136 Gentlemen Cadets and 31 lady cadets were today inducted into the Indian Army after the passing out parade at the Officers Training Academy (OTA). Vaibhav has been commissioned into Parachute regiment of the Indian Army.

Vaibhav’s father Shri Sunil Mahajan is a superintendent and mother Smt Vinay Mahajan is a vice principal in Government School, Gangath and the family belongs to Gangth town in Himachal Pardesh.
