CHANDIGARH,18.02.20-A 6-day workshop on Creative Writing culminated at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women here today. Organized under the aegis of the Postgraduate Department of Hindi of the college, the workshop aimed to enhance the skills of students in the art of creative writing in Hindi language. Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava presided over the valedictory function as the Chief Guest.

The 6 days of the workshop were dedicated to sessions providing intensive training in creative writing by renowned storywriter Mr. Mohit Dwivedi, Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi Chairperson Mr. Kamal Arora, Urdu Sahitya Akademi, Panchkula Chairperson Mr. Chandra Trikha and Dr. Baijnath of Hindi Department, PU. During the course of the workshop, the 30 participants got insightful knowledge of various aspects of creative writing including nuances of writing stories, drama, poetry and essays. The participants also got practical tips on effectively tackling the issue of writer's block. Practical exercises at the end of every session provided the students an opportunity to chisel their writing.

Lauding this endeavour of the Hindi Department, Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava stressed upon the importance of extensive reading for quality writing and added that it is imperative for keeping the tradition of enriching literature alive.
