One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Vasdev R/o # 2079, Sector-40, Chandigarh and recovered 12 bottles of illegal country liquor near turn, Sector 40 C&D, Chandigarh on 12.02.2020. A case FIR No. 47, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. He was later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Distt. Una (HP) harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 28, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

MV Theft

A lady resident of Phase-10, Mohali, reported that someone has stole away her Activa No. CH01AB-7598, parked near gate No.2, Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 16, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-3, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Fetus/Newborn Found

A case FIR No. 46, U/S 318 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh against unknown person who thrown away a dead body of newborn / fetus which found at Dussehra Ground, Sector-56, Chandigarh on 12.02.2020. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Arms Act & Endangering life or personal safety of others

A case FIR No. 25, U/S 336 IPC & 25-27-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh on the statement of Randeep Singh resident of Manimajra, Chandigarh, working as private Mechanic, against unknown persons who open fire near RIMT School, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 12.02.2020 and run away. Investigation of the case is in progress.

The Valentine’s Day

The Valentine’s Day will be celebrated on 14-02-2020 in the different parts of the City especially by the youngsters. In order to curb indulgence in dangerous driving, use of pressure horns and eve teasing, Proper security cover shall be deployed at Panjab University and its surrounding roads, markets of Sectors-8, 9,10,11,15,16,17 & 22 as well as in different Colleges and Girls Hostels.

For the proper maintenance of law & order and to curb the occurrence of such incidents, *Total-714 police personnel* (i.e. GOs-03, SHO/Insps.-24 and NGO/ORs-687) will be on ground on 14-02-2020. Further, PCR patrolling being intensified in the city especially around girls colleges, schools, hostels, parks, busy markets and malls. Lady police in civil clothes also being deployed in parks and around the colleges. Turn Sector-11/12 to Market Sector-10 being earmarked as *“Limited Vehicle Zone”* to curb hooligans and rash driving. The drivers/vehicles violating traffic rules especially dangerous driving and using pressure horns will be challaned/impounded. In addition to above, 40 internal nakas also being laid down from 4:00pm to 10:00pm.

This year special 12 nakas being established around the Pubs & Bars in Sector-26 and Sector-7 till early morning, to restrain the hooligism, brawl incidents and safety of the women from anti-eve teasing and anti- snatching point of view.

Special focus of deployment will be around the girl’s colleges & schools, ISBT-43, 17 and special anti eve teasing drive will be carried out.

Eve teasing, romeogiri, Drunken driving, dangerous driving shall be dealt with strict legal action.

Chandigarh Police achieved success

Chandigarh Police achieved success by cracking snatching case within 10-12 hours with the arrest of accused by a special team of Police Station-36 Chandigarh.

On 12.02.20, complainant Sobat Singh Rawat S/o Umed Singh Rawat R/o H No 3409,d sector 15 Chandigarh reported that he was present near Surya Hotel Sector 42, Chandigarh, in the mean time a boy came and snatched his mobile phone make Vivo and fled away from the spot. In this regard case FIR 30 Dt. 13.02.2020 U/S 379 A IPC PS-36, Chandigarh was registered and special team was constituted to work out the case.

The special team did commendable job by arresting accused Jitender Kumar @ Munia Age 20 yrs S/o Jagdish R/o H No 139/6, Vill Atawa, sector 42, Chandigarh within a short span of time i.e. 10-12 hours and recovered the snatched mobile from his possession. He was thoroughly interrogated and disclosed that he has also stolen an Activa from the parking of ISKON Mandir sector 36, Chandigarh. Accordingly on his identification stolen Activa CH04-3930 has also been recovered and case FIR No 224/19 U/s 379,411 IPC PS 36 has been worked out.
