Chandigarh, January 27- In a bid to provide better health facilities for the patients ailing from heart problems, Haryana Health, and Home Minister, Mr. Anil Vij said that a proper plan will be prepared to bring the facility of 'Cath-Lab' to every a person in the state so that people don't have to travel long distances to get treatment for heart-related diseases.

Presiding over the Working Committee meeting of Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha, Mr. Vij said that the State Government is planning to provide open-heart surgery facility in another 2 to 3 places so that proper health services are provided to the people. Apart from that, he said that an appropriate action plan will be prepared for the same.

The Health Minister said that he wishes that every citizen of the state should be provided excellent, affordable and accessible medical facilities so that people can get the health benefits at minimum cost. He said that the Medical College at Agroha will play an important role in this direction. This college is accessible to the people of that area and can help in dispensing treatment on the lines of Government Medical Colleges.

Director of the medical college, Dr. Gopal, discussed all the key points seeking assistance from the government in setting up trauma centers, centres for open-heart surgeries, and cancer institutes in the area. Apart from this, he said that proposals should also be made to increase the number of seats of postgraduate and graduate-level doctors in the medical college. The Health Minister accorded approval for the same.

In the meeting, the President of Medical College, Mrs. Savitri Jindal, Rajya Sabha MP Mr. DP Vats, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical Education, and Research Department Mr. Alok Nigam, Director of Medical Education and Research Department Mr. Rajnarayan Kaushik, Senior Vice President of Medical College, Mr. KK Aggarwal, General Secretary Shri Jagdish Mittal and Executive Members, Finance Department, Public Health Campaign Department and several officers of PWD were present.
