Two arrested for consuming liquor at public place

Two different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC have been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh against two persons who were arrested while consuming liquor at public place on 22.01.2020. Later he was released on bail.

One arrested under Arms Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Ranjit Singh @ Thakur R/o # 52, Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh, permanent address Village Bakal, Tehsil Reasi, Distt. Jammu & Kashmir, age 31 years driving Ford Figo car No. HR-03M-9034 and recovered one pistol & magazine with 4 live cartridge from his possession at Naka near Kali Bari Light Point, Chandigarh on 22.01.2020. A case FIR No. 11, U/S 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Quarrel

Jaskaran Singh R/o # 3158, Sector-15/D, Chandigarh reported that Suraj Bhandari R/o Naya Gaon, Distt. Mohali (PB) & one unknown person beaten/threatened complainant near Park View Hotel Chowk, Sector-24, Chandigarh on 09.01.2020. A case FIR No. 18, U/S 323, 341, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Missing/abducted

A lady resident of EWS Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh reported that his son aged about 17 years went to RC-1 Colony for School on 22.01.2020. A case FIR No. 11, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Dilshad R/o # 166, Village Badheri, Sector 41, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s M/Cycle No. CH-04A-5161 parked near his residence on intervening night 21/22-01-2020. A case FIR No. 23, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Police Role

On the intervening night of 22/23 Jan, 2020 at about 00:58 AM, a call was received in Police Control Room from near gate No3, House No.5012, Duplex Manimajra, Mani Majra regarding some suspected activities. PCR along with team from Police Station including SP/City & Operation, DSP and SHO rushed to the spot immediately.

It came to light that Karamvir associate of Sanjay Arora (running own sweet shop by the name of Krishna Sweets, Sec-9 Panchkula) received a call from PGI intimating him about the critical condition of Sanjay Arora, he was referred to PGI from Hospital Sector-6, Panchkula where he was admitted. Sanjay Arora sustained blunt injuries on right side of head & other body parts after being hit by a train. He immediately rushed to the hospital and tried to contact the family members. When, he was unable to contact the family members on telephone, he went to the house of Sanjay Arora. On reaching there, he saw the gate locked from outside and on using torchlight; he saw blood under suspicious circumstances inside the house.

He called the police whom after removing the lock entered into the house. Inside the house 3 dead bodies were found. In one bedroom, dead body of Mrs Sarita Arora (Housewife) W/o Sanjay Arora was found, in second bedroom dead body of Arjun (age-15 years) student of Class 10th S/o Sanjay Arora was found and in the common area body of Sanchi Arora, (Age-22 years) student of Law in Chandigarh University D/o Sanjay Arora was found.

Immediately CFSL team, Crime team, Photographers and dog squad were called to collect the evidences. On inspection of the house, one suicide note was also found which is being verified for handwriting and authenticity.

All the scientific evidences alongwith CCTV footages are being collected. The deceased bodies have been sent for post mortem and medical report is awaited. Sanjay Arora is still in critical condition and admitted in PGI. In depth enquiry into the matter is being conducted and all the facts are being verified.

On the basis of above facts, FIR No.13 dated 23/01/2020 U/S 302 IPC, PS MM has been registered against unknown person. Investigation is being carried out by SHO Manimajra.

CHANDIGARH POLICE

Chandigarh police has arrested a person roaming near army area with unlicensed pistol loaded with 04 live cartridges near Railway Bridge, 3BRD Airforce Gate.

On 22.01.2020, SI Lakhmir Singh along with HC Fatesh Singh and other officials laid a naka near Railway Bridge, 3BRD Airforce gate and was checking the vehicles coming from Kali Bari Light Point in respect of forthcoming Republic Day. In the meantime, one car bearing HR 03 M 9034 make Figo, was stopped by HC Fateh Singh for checking and the driver came out from the car and disclosed his name as Ranjeet Singh @ Thakur S/o Mulkh Raj R/o Village Bakal, Tehsil & Dist Reasi State Jammu & Kashmir and present address H No 52, Village Raipur Khurd, Chd Age 31 years, wearing lower & jacket. He was carrying some heavy article in his right lower pocket and when on suspicion, his right pocket was searched, one pistol loaded with 04 live cartridges recovered. He failed to produce any licence in respect of possession of said pistol nor gave satisfactory reply. A case FIR No 11 dated 22.01.2020 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act was registered against him and the accused was arrested and the said pistol was taken into police possession accordingly.

During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he had purchased the said pistol in the amount of Rs 25,000/- from one Ashish @ Ashi residing Distt Saharanpur at UP in the month of Oct, 2019. To procure the source of procuring the said arm / pistol, two days police remand has been obtained by producing the accused in the court of Sh. Simran Singh, JMIC, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is continued with SI Lakhmir Singh.
