Chandigarh,21.01.20-A police team received secret information that two accused who shot and killed Satendra, a resident of village Phulwadi in front of MVN University on January 13, were heading towards Garhi village from UP side on a bike. As soon as the information received, CIA team put a blockade near village Garhi. After a while, when police signaled a bike to stop, two young men tried to go back and started firing on police team. The policemen retaliated with shots and finally managed to overpower them. Both the accused shot in the legs and have been admitted to hospital for treatment.

Arrested accused has also been involved in cases of attempt to murder, loot and dacoity.

Chandigarh, Jan 21 – Haryana Police has arrested a person for possessing 734 gram brown sugar valued at Rs 35 lakh in international market from Rewari district.

A spokesperson of Haryana Police said that arrested accused was identified as a resident of Pali in Rajasthan. The arrest was made by a team of Crime Investigation Agency during routine patrolling after it noticed a suspect person at railway chowk in Rewari.

A case under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered against the accused, who will be taken in remand by producing in the Court. Further investigation is underway.

Chandigarh, January 21: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has accorded approval for starting the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) courses in various clinical subjects and pathology at Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College (SKHM), Nalhar, in Nuh district.

The Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Finance Minister, has approved an amount of more than Rs 15.48 crore for providing the facility of DNB course to the rural areas students, so that the people living in the area can get better medical facilities.

Sharing more details about the same, an official Spokesman said that the three-year course will be made available in the specialties namely, ENT, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Anesthesiology, Radiology and Chest and TB.

The Spokesman said that the Diplomate qualifications awarded by the National Board of Examinations have been equated with the postgraduate and post doctorate degrees awarded by other Indian Universities by the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; vide their notifications issued from time to time. The holders of Board’s qualification awarded after an examination (DNB Final) are eligible to be considered for specialists post in any Hospital including training or teaching institution.

Haryana Education Minister Mr. Kanwar Pal said that the State Government has decided to give free books to the students studying in Class IX and XII in the government schools in the State.

Chandigarh, January 21: Haryana Education Minister Mr. Kanwar Pal said that the State Government has decided to give free books to the students studying in Class IX and XII in the government schools in the State. He said that at present, the State Government is already providing free of cost books, school bags, other stationery and uniforms to the students from class I to VIII. The decision to provide free books to the students studying in Class IX and XII in the government schools will involve an expenditure of about Rs 41.47 crore.

The Education Minister said that the Center has recommended implementing 'Rashtriya Shiksha Niti-2019' for extending the scope of free education from class VIII to XII standard. He said that the Haryana Government has already decided to adopt ‘Rashtriya Shiksha Niti-2019' in the State.

He said that NCERT books are being taught in government schools of the state from class IX to XII, which costs around Rs 650 to Rs 700 per student per class. He said that the number of students from class IX to XII is 6, 19,256 and the total expenditure of books is around Rs 41.47 crores.

Mr. Kanwar Pal said that the books for these four classes will be given to the students through libraries or book-banks. He added that the passed-out students who get promoted to the next class will have to deposit the books of the previous class in the library or book-banks in order to keep the books for the next class. He said that the decision of the Haryana Government will not only reduce the financial burden on the parents of the students but will also help in conservation of environment as it will also reduce the cutting of trees.

Education Minister further informed that the Nuh district has already been declared as a regional-district by the Central Government, under which Rs. 2 crore has already been provided for the provision of free books to prevent the drop-out of children. The amount has been released.

He said that under the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' program, many works are being done by the State Government to promote girl education. Transport facility, separate toilets have been provided in the schools to the girls in their educational institutions and programs are being run to enhance their leadership capabilities.
