Two arrested for consuming liquor at public place

A case U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC has been registered in PS-03 & 39, Chandigarh against two persons who were arrested while consuming liquor at public place on 20.01.2020. Later he was released on bail.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Rahul R/o # 2891, DMC, Chandigarh Age 19 years and recovered 5 gram heroin/ smack from his possession near School, Sector-38 West, Chandigarh on 20.01.2020. A case FIR No. 13, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others resident of Fazilka (PB) harassed her to bring more dowries. A case FIR No. 13, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Sector 19, Chandigarh harassed her to bring more dowries. A case FIR No. 14, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

MV Theft

Suman Kyathanm R/o # 579, Sector-69, Mohali reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Activa Scooter No. TS08GF-0403 from market, Sector-40, Chandigarh on 19.01.2020. A case FIR No. 20, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

LOST CHILD

Anti Human Trafficking Unit received an email dated 06.01.2020 from Snehalaya, Maloya, Chandigarh to trace out the parents of child boy namely Sumit s/o Rajaram, (imaginary name) Age – 09 years, who was got admitted in Snehalaya, Maloya, Chandigarh under the runaway category. On this, the team of AHTU visited Snehalaya, Maloya and interacted with the child. During the interaction, child Sumit told that his parents are residing in Chuna Bhatti, Jalandhar, Punjab but not able to tell proper address. He also told that he reached in Chandigarh himself by Bus and after that he was rescued by Child Help Line from Bus Stand, Sec-17, Chandigarh. ASI Ballu Singh and Constable Manjeet showed nearby places of Chuna Bhatti, Jalandhar through mobile to child Sumit. He verified a mechanical shop near his residence address. The owner of mechanical shop was contacted through telephonically who was known with child Sumit. He provided the proper address and contact number of parents of child Sumit. After that father namely Rajaram of child Sumit was contacted telephonically and called to come in the office of AHTU. All the facts were explained to Rajaram. On 21.01.2020, father of child Sumit came to AHTU office Sec-17,Chd and he was taken to CWC office Sanehalaya, Maloya. After completion of due procedure, the child has been handed over to his father. The child Sumit has been reunited with his parents by the best efforts made by AHTU Team.

21.01.2020-On 20.01.2020, in connection with the forthcoming Republic Day Celebrations-2020, a team of Operations Cell headed by SI. Neeraj Kumar 1067/CHG under the close supervision of Insp. Jasminder Singh, I/C Operations Cell and Sh. Dilsher Singh Chandel DSP/Operations and East, laid a naka near KhudaLahora Bridge, Chandigarh for checking the suspected persons/vehicles. At about 10:30 PM, during naka duty they apprehended two pedestrian whose name later on known as Tagdir S/o Sh. Ganeshi R/o village- Bar, tehsil- Kalka, Distt- Panchkula, Haryana (age- 40 yrs) and Jagdish S/o Sh. Hardeva R/o village- Bar, tehsil- Kalka, Distt- Panchkula, Haryana (age- 46 yrs.) were coming towards naka carrying plastic bag (katta) on their heads. During their checking, 20 kg 600 gmGanjawas recovered from the possession of accused Tagdir and 20 kg 500 gmGanja was also recovered from the possession accused Jagdish (Total 41 kg 100 gm Ganja). Both the persons failed to produce any valid license or permit to carry the above mentioned contraband in their possession. In this regard, a case FIR No.16 dated 21.01.2020 U/S 20 NDPS Act was got registered against them in Police Station, Sector-11, Chandigarh.

Today i.e. 21.01.2020, both the accused persons namely Tagdir and Jagdish were produced in the Hon’ble Court of Ms. Saloni Gupta, JMIC, U.T., Chandigarh and their police remand for one day i.e. up to 22.01.2020 was obtained to know the involvement of other persons to whom they supply the contraband drugs. The further investigation of the case is in progress.
