CHANDIGARH,18.01.20-On the third day of Swachhata Pakhwada, the Departments of Food Science and Botany of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organized a session on 'Development and presentation of innovative technologies for waste recycling, energy conservation, etc.' With the aim to create awareness and comprehensive knowledge about waste management, the faculty of both the departments demonstrated and discussed various innovative practices adopted by the college to treat solid and liquid waste such as biogas plant, composting units and the recently developed sewage treatment plant. The students were made aware of various benefits associated with these practices and the need to adopt and promote such innovative waste management techniques.

Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava informed that the college has made concerted efforts in the field of energy conservation and waste management by installing solar panels, rain water harvesting, composting, and biogas production.
