National Cadet Corps (NCC), the largest uniformed youth organisation in the world, celebrating its 71st Anniversary today. NCC Brig JS Samyal, Deputy Director General Punjab, Haryana, himachal Pardesh and Chandigarh directorate NCC flagged off an Anti Pollution Cycle Rally by Chandigarh NCC cadets from Sukna Lake which completed at NCC Headquarters at Sector 31.

The raising day is also being celebrated by cadets participating in awareness rally against Drugs, Blood Donation, and other social service and community development programmes like “Swachh Bharat – Swasth Bharat”.

Major General RS Mann Additional Director General, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Directorate NCC appreciated the immense contribution of NCC cadets in in “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”, Anti Drug and Cancer Awareness Rallies, Anti Pollution awareness Rallies etc. The cadets participated whole heartedly in Swacchta Abhiyan, Pan India Swachh Bharat Cycle rally and played a pivotal role in spreading awareness about various government initiatives like digital literacy, yoga, blood donation camps and immunisation programs, etc.

Major General RS Mann urged personnel of the directorate to rededicate themselves to follow the true traditions and customs of NCC. He wanted them to ensure that the young cadets were groomed and nurtured with qualities like discipline, leadership, secular outlook and selfless service to the country.

The multifaceted activities and varied curriculum of NCC provides unique opportunities to youth for self development. Many cadets from this directorate have done the nation and the organisation proud by their remarkable achievements in the fields of sports and adventure and have won many laurels in these fields.

The NCC continues its relentless efforts towards moulding the present day youth into responsible citizens of tomorrow.
