Chandigarh, November 9 – With the aim of promoting culture, artists and religious background of Haryana across the Country and Abroad, an online central portal has been launched by the State Government for getting the online approval for the shooting of films in the State. The applicants applying on this the online portal will be granted the shooting approval within seven working days.

Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Haryana Mr. Sameer Pal Srow shared this information while presiding over a meeting with City Magistrate and District Information Public Relation Officers through video conferencing, here today.

Mr. Sameer Pal Srow said to promote the culture, artists and religious background of Haryana across the State and in aboard, a film policy was framed on October 21, 2018. He said that the Haryana Film Promotion Board has also been formed in the State and is famous filmmaker Satish Kaushik, resident of Mahendragarh district is the Board chairman. He said that in order to ensure that there is not any delay in getting approval for the shooting of films, a single-window system similar to ease of Doing Business, has also been launched under which approval will be granted only within 7 working days.

He informed that the concerned City Magistrate has been appointed as nodal officers. He said that soon all will be given a user ID through which they will have to complete this process. He further said that those who wish to get the approval do not have to visit in person, rather now they will just have to apply online by clicking on the film cell option on the PR Haryana website. The approval letter will also be made available online after seven days of the application.

He said that it would be the responsibility of City Magistrate to send the approval, to be sent through the portal to the concerned department without any delay. After that, the Nodal Officers appointed at Headquarters can coordinate and give approval for shooting the film within the stipulated time. He said that if for some reason the approval cannot be given, then the exact reason should be uploaded on the portal, but no application should be cancelled without any valid reason.

He said that information on shooting locations in Haryana and Haryanvi artists has also been made available for filmmakers on the portal. He said that as per the film policy if a filmmaker makes a film on the background of Haryana or takes actors from Haryana in the film or employs them as other technical staff, then the filmmaker will be getting an incentive. For this also, one has to apply on this site. This amount can range from one crore to three crore. In this regard, film policy has been given on the PR Haryana website. Every process is explained in it.

Mr. Sameer Pal Srow said that there are about 40 places in Haryana for filmmakers which are very attractive from the shooting point of view. He said that from Pinjore to Narnaul, the State certainly has a rich cultural and historical heritage and because of which the film industry will provide employment opportunities to the youth in the coming times.

He further shared that initially nodal officers of 18 departments namely Urban Local Bodies Department, Industry and Commercial Department, Tourism Department, Excise and Taxation, Police, Art and Culture Affairs Department, Archeology and Museums, Jails, Town and Village Planning Department, Public Works (Building and Roads), Haryana Urban Development Authority, Home Guard and Civil Defense, Higher Education, HSIIDC, Information, Public Relations, and Languages Department, Home, Fire Service, and Rural Development Department has been appointed at the headquarters level, who will ensure the finishing of the shooting related work mentioned timeline as per the policy.
