Four arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Chukwnebuku R/o # Gali No. 36, Extension Dwarka, New Delhi, from fire station, Sector-17, Chandigarh and recovered 55.82 Gram heroin from his possession on 07.11.2019. A case FIR No. 341, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Joseph Kames R/o # 15, Jain road Dwarka Mod, New Delhi, from T-point, backside, ISBT-43, Chandigarh and recovered 50 Gram heroin from his possession on 07.11.2019. A case FIR No. 229, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Munish Kumar R/o # 356, Khuda Lahor, Chandigarh, from Sector 39/40-55/56 chowk, Sector-40 side and recovered 20.45 gram heroin on 07.11.2019. A case FIR No. 403, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Five arrested against Gambling

Chandigarh Police arrested Ashok Kumar, Ramesh Chand, Naresh Kumar, Suresh Kumar and Bajrangi all residence of Chandigarh from Park, Sector-22, Chandigarh, while gambling on 07.11.2019. Total cash Rs. 58200/- was recovered from their possession. A case FIR No. 342, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Later they were released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Jitender Singh R/o # 315, Rella, Sector -12, PKL reported that Shiv Chandan R/o # Village Raghpath Pura, Distt. Gonda(UP), who stolen complainant’s gold chain from # 1009, Sector-24, Chandigarh on 05.11.2019. A case FIR No. 315, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Accused arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sukhdev Singh R/o # SCO No. 68-70, Sector-17-A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person who stole away complainant’s AC pipes, CCTV camera, DVR and other items from said SCO. A case FIR No. 340, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sunil Kumar r/o # 3498, Sector-40-d, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s laptop of Dell Company from counter No. 12, ISBT-43 on 01.10.2019. A case FIR No. 230, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Insult the modesty of a woman

A case FIR No. 282, U/S 509, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-3, Chandigarh on the complaint of a girl resident of Punjab against Dharampal and 2 other persons, who eve-teased complainant on her phone. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Quarrel/Assault

A case FIR No. 273 U/S 147, 148, 149, 323, 506, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Manish R/o Rampur Bahal, Dera Bassi, Lalru, Punjab against Rajinder, Prince, Rock, Laddi and Kakku all resident not known all they Quarreled/beaten with sticks to complainant near Taxi Stand, GMCH-32, Chandigarh on 07.11.2019. Investigation of case is in progress.

Accident

Rama Shankar Saha R/o # 888, Ph-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh reported that Parkash Chand r/o Vill chandoh, Distt. Bilaspur, HP, driver of water canter No. CH01G10148 hit to rehri puller namely Ranjit Saha r/o #888, Phase-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh near Tubewell gate, CRPF camp, Hallomajra, Chandigarh on 07.11.2019. A case FIR No. 274 U/S 279, 337, 304-A IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Resultantly Ranjit Saha got injured and lifted to GMCH-32, where duty doctor declared him brought dead. Investigation of case is in progress.

Brijesh Kumar R/o # 1663, village Burail, Chandigarh reported that unknown driver of motorcycle No. CH49(T)3929 hit to complainant’s Jupiter No. HR03X6589 from near Santoshi Mata Mandir, Sec-49, Chandigarh on 03.11.2019. A case FIR No. 137 U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh Complainant got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police got a major success in apprehending two Nigerian and unearthing drug racket involved in drug trafficking in India.

On 7.11.2019, the teams of Crime Branch on the direction of Sh. Sukhraj Katewa, DSP/Crime under the close supervision of Insp. Ranjit Singh headed by SI Ashok Kumar was on patrolling in the area of Police Station 17, Chandigarh with regard to prevention and control of crime. At about 4.30 PM while they were near fire brigade Office Turn, near bus stand Sec.17, Chandigarh one person on seeing police party turn back, as such, on the basis of suspicion as he was stopped as seems to be foreigner and residing illegally in Chandigarh. His checking was made and ‘HEROIN” was recovered. On weighing it was found to be 55.82 gms. Accused Chukwnebuku S/o Ohsi r/o Anamasteshawn House No. 11, Abuja, Nigeria age 20 years present address Gali No. 36, Extension Dwarka Mod, New Delhi was arrested and case FIR No. 341 Dated 07.11.2019 U/S 21 NDPS Act, PS-17, Chandigarh has been registered. During the course of investigation, accused disclosed that he brought drugs from Delhi to supply in Chandigarh. So to crack the link in Delhi and Chandigarh, his police custody for 2 days has been granted by the Hon’ble Court. Further investigation is in progress.

In another case ASI Jaskaran Singh was on patrolling duty for checking of vehicles near T-Point Jungle Area, Sec.43, Chandigarh near Bus Stand. At about 5.25 pm one foreigner came from outer road of Bus Stand and on seeing the police party, he turn speedily towards jungle area. The Police party chased and apprehended him on the suspicion that he may have any arms. On the checking ‘HEROIN’ was recovered from his possession. On weighing it was found to be 50 gm. Accused Juseph James S/o Pastor Cliff r/o # 15, Dwarka Mod, Jain Road New Delhi age 28 years was arrested and case FIR No. 229 Dated 07.11.2019 U/S 21 NDPS Act, PS-36, Chandigarh has been registered. The police custody for 1 day has been obtained from the Hon’ble Court to establish his link in Chandigarh and Delhi. Further investigation is in progress.

It is pertinent to mention that Accused Joseph James has already been arrested by the Una Police, Himachal and presently on bail by the hon’ble court.

With their arrest total 105.82 gm Heroin has been recovered which is approximately having value of Rs. 5 lac.

11th World Body Building & Physique Sports Championship is being held from 5th November 2019 to 11th November 2019 at Jiju Island, South Korea . Inspector Baldev Kumar, of Chandigarh Police Presently Posted as SHO Police Station 34 Chandigarh has won Silver Medal in the event in 80 to 90 KG weight Category. The championship is being organised by World Body Building & Physique Federation.
