Delhi,19.10.19-Commencing the first day of the vibrant Shahpur Jat Autumn Festival, Sh. Saurabh Bharadwaj, MLA, Greater Kailash, inaugurated the festivities with thorough fanfair.

Visitors were welcomed with an enthralling line up of cultural performances by local artists and performers from Haryana & Punjab. A variety of stalls offering delectable dishes and trendy attires decked the festivities even further.

Hosting walks and workshops that cater to different interests, the festival offered art, painting and recycling workshops that engaged kids and individuals alike, while Heritage walks by INTACH enlivened the curiosity of history enthusiasts. Organising the first of its kind Retail Therapy Walk lead by stylist Rishi Raj, avid fashion enthusiasts relished the walk along fashion street exploring the talented work of designers at Shahpur Jat.

Renowned artists like Deepa Chaudhary & Group showcased the melodious art of ‘Ragini’ a folk music form from Haryana. Leading the day into a fun-filled evening, the visitors were thoroughly entertained by LOL with Hasya Kavi Sunil Jogi.

Ending the first day on a joyous and memorable note, Shahpur Jat Autumn Festival will include Fashion Shows exhibiting the works of Shahpur Jat designers and a Musical Concert by Bollywood’s Singer Monali Thakur on 20th Oct.

Delhi Government, recently also hosted three days long Mehrauli Monsoon Festival to highlight the cultural & ecological significance of Mehrauli as a tourist destination. Similarly, this festival aims to bring forward more tourism offerings in the city.

The government plans to make this Shahpur Jat Autumn Festival an annual feature that would become a part of Delhi’s Annual Tourism Calendar.
