Chandigarh, August 24- The ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ of Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has been postponed for one day, due to sudden demise of former Union Finance Minister and senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party, Mr Arun Jaitley. The yatra was to start from Ballabhgarh at 9 am on August 25 and now, it will start on August 26, 2019 according to pre-scheduled programme.

In a condolence message issued here today, Mr Dhankhar said that being associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, he had the opportunity to work with Mr. Jaitley for a long period. Besides, being a great orator, he was a well-known lawyer. He has made an indelible mark in the world. His demise is an irreparable loss to the country but he will be remembered as a skilled politician for a long time.

Mr Dhankar expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that his soul might rest in peace.

In a condolence message issued here today, Mr Manohar Lal said that he is saddened and pained on the demise of Mr Jaitley. He was a great leader, orator, statesman and more than anything a true son of India. An era has ended. The demise of Mr Jaitley is an irreparable loss to BJP and Indian politics, he added.

He said that Mr Jaitely held senior positions with the Party and NDA Government. He remained Union Finance Minister from May 2014 to May 2018.

Mr Manohar Lal conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed to the Almighty that the departed soul might rest in peace.

Chandigarh, August 24- Haryana Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu has deeply mourned the sudden demise of former Union Finance Minister, Mr Arun Jaitley. Mr Jaitely was undergoing treatment at AIIMS in New Delhi and today afternoon breathed his last at the age of 66.

In a condolence message issued here today, the Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu said that Mr Arun Jaitley was a great politician and the top leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The former Finance Minister will be remembered for a long time for implementing the 'GST' and mooting the idea of 'one nation, one tax’, and for bringing revolution in the Indian economy. He said that his being the Finance Minister of Haryana, he had the opportunity to work long hours with Mr. Jaitley in the meetings of the Goods and Services Tax Council. He was a great orator as well as a well-known lawyer. His death is an irreparable loss to the nation but his memories as a skilled politician will never be forgotten.

Capt. Abhimanyu expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and also prayed for the peace of the divine soul.

As per a circular issued by Chief Secretary Office here today, the National Flag will fly at half-mast from August 24, 2019 to August 25, 2019 (both days inclusive) in the State on all the buildings where it is flown regularly and there would be no official entertainment on these days.
