CM pays floral tributes to former PM Rajiv Gandhi

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today paid rich homage to the former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi on his 75th birth anniversary by paying floral tributes on his statue at Sadbhavana Chowk at Chotta Shimla.
Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar, MLAs Inder Singh Gandhi, Nand Lal, Jagat Singh Negi, Ashish Butail and Mohan Lal Bragta, Chief Secretary B.K.Agarwal, Mayor Kusum Sadrate, Councillors of Shimla Municipal Corporation, former Mayors and other leaders also paid floral tributes to the former Prime Minister.
Bhajans and patriotic songs were also sung by the artists of Information and Public Relations Department on the occasion.

Three Day Care centres to be established for Senior Citizen

National Health Mission, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Himachal Pradesh is organising The world Senior Citizen's Day on 21st August, at New MC Building, Upper Chowk, Khalini Shimla.

A spokesperson said that on this occasion National Health Mission, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Himachal Pradesh in collaboration with HelpAge India Himachal Chapter will be establishing three Day Care Centres for elderly at Shimla, Mandi and Dharamshala. He said that in these centres various activities like physiotherapy, library,(books, magazines and newspapers), recreation/pilgrimage tours, yoga, health checkup and awareness camps and other recreational services (TV, music, carom board, chess, ludo and cards etc) will be provided free of cost.

He said that these centres will be inaugurated by Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj and Health Minister Vipin Singh Parmar through Video Conference.

Pension Adalat to be conducted on 23rd August

A spokesperson of Department of Personnel here today informed that the Government of India has decided to conduct the Pension Adalat throughout country by each Ministry/Department/Organisation/Field formation on 23rd August, 2019 with the objective that a day is dedicated to Pensioners as part of good governance and efforts made to minimize their grievances.

He said that in view of the above, it has been decided to conduct the Pension Adalat on 23rdAugust, 2019 under Chairmanship of Special Secretary (Personnel) to the Government of Himachal Pradesh in his office chamber Room No. 223 Armsdale Building. H.P. Secretariat at 10.30 AM.

Department of Language Art and Culture honoured with Certificate of excellence

Department of Language Art & Culture of Himachal Pradesh has been honoured with Certificate of excellence for spreading the Swacch Bharat campaign to places with maximum footfall, in the 36 scheduled government controlled temples of HP by an international organization "Earthday network".

Secretary Language Art Culture to the Government of HP Dr. Purnima Chauhan, while accepting the honour thanked "Earthday Network". She said that "Earthday Network" is working to protect earth from pollution in 192 countries with 75000 participant across the Globe on environment democracy.

She said that all 36 temples including the renowned Jwalaji, Baijnath, Chintpurni ji etc are of great significance and the department is making sincere efforts to keep temple premises pollution free by issuing directions to enforce complete ban on use of plastic. She said that the Temple Administrations have been directed that 'Prasad' offerings would be distributed in biodegradable bags. In keeping with the sanctity attached to such Prasad, sanitary staff has been directed to ensure that fallen Prasad should be collected immediately and distributed to animal/birds to prevent it from being trampled and defiled.

Dr. Purnima Chauhan said that a small tractor load of waste generated in each temple daily is to be recycled after segregation and the Temple administrations have been directed to create livelihoods by recycling waste flowers to make incense sticks that may become a source of income.
