Chandigarh, July 18: A fortnight -long Swachh Bharat Internship programme was flagged off by Brig Ranjitsingh, Group Commander NCC Chandigarh.

The programme is being undertaken the second time and will continue for 15 days. It was kicked off in the NCC Complex main entrance in presence of Prof ramaArora Principal PGGC-11 and ShriRanjjanVerma, Dean PGGC-11, Chd. DrRakesh Thakur Asst Prof and caretaker Air wing is in-charge of summer internship programme, organized by SBSI and NCC Air wing

The awareness campaign around better sanitation practices. The team will meet the general public in the village Behlana where the programme is initiated. The cadets will also sensitize the villagers about issues related to sanitation, open defecation and hygiene practices, said Group captain M R Pandeya, CO Air wing NCC. The Panch of the Gram PanchayatDev Raj Sharma appreciated the efforts of the NCC team and cadets in creating awareness of hygiene among the villagers.The participating teams will continue with their activities in village Behlanafor 15 days.

This is the second summer internship programme under Swachha Bharat Abhiyan meant for students from various colleges under the Central Government scheme that was launchedlast year by the Ministry of HRD through the University Grants Commission. “It has to be taken on a serious note for society’s uplift,” said Brigadier Ranjit Singh. Prof Rama Arora awarded the certificates to the participants of SWACHH BHARAT SUMMER INTERNSHIP 2018.
