Chandigarh, April 15, 2019: State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest commercial Bank, today inaugurated Facilitation Centre & Digital Lounge at Chandimandir for Army Officers and Veterans in the august presence of Lt. General P. M. Bali, Chief of Staff, Western Command and other senior army officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Gupta emphasised the need for such dedicated centre for taking good care of the real heroes of the country who put in everything for the safety and security of the country and all of us. The centre has many facilities like e-lobby which houses two ATM Machines, Cash Deposit Machine, Pass Book Printing Machine (Swayam), a dedicated Relationship Manager for the Officers besides providing all pension related services to the officers by the team of officials from our Central Pension Processing Cell twice a week. Two additional ATMs have been provided for the convenience of our most revered customers.

Sh. Rana Ashutosh Kumar Singh, Chief General Manager of Chandigarh Circle recalled the long and deep association of the Bank with the Army and thanked Sh. Gupta for taking his time out for the inauguration of the facilitation centre and digital lounge at Chandimandir. Sh. Singh informed that the army officers can now complete the loan documentation requirements in a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere at the centre.

The MD Sh. Gupta also interacted with the beneficiaries of MUDRA and SUI loans attending a Skill Development Programme at SBILD Panchkula.

In the evening, Sh. Gupta attended a Town Hall Meeting with the staff of all the branches, CPCs and other offices of the tricity at Tagore Theatre Chandigarh and shared the Bank’s priorities in the areas of Cleanliness, Branch Ambience, promotion of digital banking and above all the Customer Service. He impressed upon everyone present to promote Bank’s YONO app and YONO Cash facility by making more and more people aware about the same.

Mrs. Rashmi Singh, President, SBI Ladies Club Chandigarh handed over a cheque of Rs.1.50 Lakhs to Sh. Surinder Tanwar, Additional DGP, BSF, Mohali as contribution of the club towards “Bharat Ke Veer” fund. The SBI Ladies Club had raised the funds to support the families of Bravehearts of India by organising a Pre-Baisakhi Fete on 07th April 2019 at SBI Officers Housing Complex, Mohali. SBI Ladies Club is a club of wives of officers and senior executives of the Bank, engaged in doing various charitable events for the upliftment and self-reliance of the needy people of the society.
