Chandigarh,20.02.19-The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Department of Commerce of MCM DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organised a seminar on the topic of ‘Emerging Trends in Teaching and Research in Marketing, Operations/Supply Chain Management and Accounting’ on February 20, 2019.

Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargav along with Dr. Vibha Sharma and Dr. Mamta Ratti welcomed the guests : Dr Amrik S Sohal, Dr Felix Mavondo and Dr. Kristian Rotaru all from Monash Business School, Monash University Australia and Prof. Suresh K. Chadha from University Business School, Panjab University Chandigarh.

Dr. Amrik S Sohal stated that the main purpose of this seminar is to raise awareness among the students regarding Interdisciplinary research to face major challenges of present time, importance of quality research and its publication. He also focused on the new emerging trends in teaching and research. Dr Felix Mavando Professor of Marketing, Monash University, Australia was the second speaker. He focused on the importance of innovation in teaching and academic values and opportunities in Interdisciplinary Research.

Dr. Kristian Rotaru, from Monash University shared slides of his academic experiments and encouraged students to be bold and not be afraid to look beyond their area of studies and conduct Collaborative Research.

Prof S.K. Chadha dwelt on the need of interdisciplinary approach to teaching and research. He also asked the faculty and the students to conduct quality research.

Principal of the college Dr. Nisha Bhargav said the the seminar was quite informative and generated awareness among students regarding the emerging trends in teaching and the importance of quality research and interdisciplinary research.
