New Delhi February 1, 2019 FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), the women business wing of FICCI organised a very interesting interactive session on “Successful Mothers & Daughters in the Business of Luxury” .

The Mother & Daughter Panelists at the interactive session included - Ms Zarine Khan & Ms Sussanne Khan, The Charcoal Project ( Interior design concept store); Ms Shahnaz Husain & Ms Nelofar Currimbhoy, Shahnaz Herbals ( Beauty & Wellness) and Ms Sunita Kohli & Ms Kohelika Kohli, K2INDIA (Multi–disciplinary design and architecture) and Ms Asha Kamal Modi and her daughter Shivani Modi of Art Karat fame .

The following inspiring mother-daughter businesses are making a difference together.” Said Ms Zairine Khan, Foodie, model, star wife, and super mom of Sussanne Khan while speaking at the interactive session .

That is what my mother did with me.” Said Ms Sussanne Khan wife of cine star Hrithik Roshan and a celebrity Interior Designer from Bollywood has a Arts Degree in Interior Design from Brooks College and has founded and introduced The Charcoal Project, India's first and most unique design concept store.

“My mother Zarine has been role model for her daughters especially for me and my other Two sisters jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali and Simone Arora . Many know me as the wife of Hrithik Roshan, However very few know that I am in fact the daughter of prolific interior designer Zarine Khan!.After having obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Interior Design from Blooks College, California. I went onto working with my mother for a while before starting my own venture. In 2005 I shifted focus to furniture design. In Collaboration With Gauri Khan I Launched my furniture boutique ‘The Charcoal Project‘ in 2011. In addition to designing my own home with Hrithik, I have also designed Rani Mukerji and Priyanka Chopra’s homes.” Said Sussanne Khan

Shahnaz Hussain herbal queen of India’s daughter Nelofar Currimbhoy who recently unveiled a biography Flame: The story of my mother Shahnaz Husain speaking on the occasion said “ Her mother Shahnaz Hussain is a woman who has kept at her dream with determination. She broke through the glass ceiling and pioneered the herbal industry. She has so much courage and is able to do what she wants with so much élan,”

They are also mothers running homes and looking after children at the same time trying to keep the work life balance.
