Chandigarh, Jan 04 : The National Cadet Corps’(NCC) Combined Annual Training Camp conducted by Chandigarh Air Sqn NCC began at the Air Force School of BRD Air Force on Tuesday.

    108 NCC Air wing cadets including 35  girls, representing 05 institutions in Chandigarh, along with 09 instructors of Air Force, associate NCC officers and civilian staff are participating in the camp which will conclude on January 11.

    According to an official release, the camp is aimed at imparting quality training to the cadets in Drill, Weapon Training, Shooting, Aero-modeling and sessions on National Integration, Road Safety, Fire Safety, importance of Health and hygiene and Personality Development would also be conducted. Various competitions, including Quiz, Sports and Cultural activities are being conducted to identify potential cadets who will be fielded for various National camps like VayuSainikCamp (VSC) and Republic Day Parade camp. During the camp cadets are planned to visit various aircrafts of Air force as part of training and motivation.

    The camp was inaugurated by Col RakeshKundlas, Deputy Commander, NCC Group Chandigarh. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the NCC would impart discipline and fitness among the youth. Addressing the cadets, Col Rakesh exhorted the cadets to excel in all fields, enjoy the training, and develop friendship. He called upon cadets to utilise this opportunity to excel in their career.

    On successful completion of the camp, cadets will become eligible for appearing in NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate examinations as applicable said the Camp Commandant Wing commander M R Pandeya.
