Chandigarh,13.11.17- Six Air NCC Cadets including four boys and two girls of No. 1 Chandigarh Air Sqn NCC of Chandigarh NCC group participated in All India Vayu Sainik Camp - 2017 conducted in Jodhpur. A total of 48 cadets (32 boys and 16 girls) were selected from entire Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Chandigarh to represent the Pb, Har, HP &Chd NCC directorate at the prestigious camp. A total of appx 600 NCC Air Wing cadets from all over the country had taken part in the camp. Six cadets of city beautiful were Cadet Neha, Cadet Ankita Singh, Cadet Pawan Singh Negi, Cadet Sanjay Thakur, cadet Shiva Vasan and Cadet Ranjan Kaushal.
Cadet Shiva Vasan of Chandigarh Air NCC, who represented Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh in aero modeling, excelled in the “Remote Control Aero Modeling and Flying” event and brought home a “Gold Medal”. Mr Daaman Joyia is his Aero modeling Instructor.
Brigadier RS Thakur, Group Commander, NCC Group Chandigarh Interacted with the cadets and lauded their efforts.
“The aim of the All India Vayu Sainik camp is to check the proficiency of the cadets in various NCC activities specific to the Air Wing. Competitions are conducted in many disciplines like Best in Flying, 0.22 rifle shooting, Skeet shooting, drill, tent pitching/line area, health and hygiene and aero modeling. It is three months long hard work of cadets” added Wing Commander M R Pandeya, CO Chandigarh Air Sqn NCC. He complimented it for the splendid performance and exhorted the cadets to continue their winning skill in all walks of Life.
