 Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 28 cases U/S 68-1-14 Excise Act got registered. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 28 different cases U/S 68-1-14 Excise Act have been registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 28 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All accused later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1-14 Excise Act got registered: - PS-03= 3 Cases PS-11= 1 Case, PS-Sarangpur= 3 cases, PS-26= 2 cases, PS-IA= 5 Cases, PS-MM= 4 Cases, PS-IT Park= 1 case, PS/31= 4 cases, PS/49= 1 case. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

 One arrested under Arms Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Tushar @ Sunny R/o # 3968, Sector-25, Chandigarh near Shamshan Ghat, Sector-25, Chandigarh and recovered one Desi Katta (gun) from his possession. A case FIR No. 264, U/S 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

 Abetment to Suicide

        Sh. Hari Om Gupta R/o # 303, Sector-45/A, Chandigarh alleged that Ashwani Goyal R/o # 98, Sector-20/A, Chandigarh abetted complainant’s daughter (w/o Ashwani Goyal) to commit suicide. She was declared brought dead in GH-16, Chandigarh. A Case FIR No. 144, U/S 306, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Accused arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

A lady resident of Sector 38, Chandigarh reported that unknown person ran away after snatching away her purse containing cash Rs. 250/, mobile phone and some documents from near H.No. 126, Sector-38/A, Chandigarh. A Case FIR No. 388, U/S 356, 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh.  Investigation of the case is in progress.

Eve-teasing

        A girl resident of Chandigarh alleged that Ravi R/o # 3253/1, Sector-38/C, Chandigarh eve-teased & threatened complainant at her residence on 12.09.2017. A Case FIR No. 389, U/S 354, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh.  Accused has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sh. Navjot Singh R/o #2051, Sector-45, Burail, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away his Activa Scooter No. CH-04-6932 while parked near his residence. A Case FIR No. 352, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Mohit Jain R/o #2096/A, Block-25, Sector 63, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away his Activa Scooter No. PB-65K-5080 while parked near his residence. A Case FIR No. 83, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

        A lady resident of Sector-42B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away purse containing cash Rs. 30,000/- from her residence and also stolen away her Activa Scooter No. CH-03V-8713 parked outside of her residence. A Case FIR No. 321, U/S 379, 380 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

        Sh. Sukhwinder Singh R/o # 7185, New Sunny Enclave, Kharar (PB) alleged that unknown car sped away after hitting to complainant’s car No. PB-07AZ-4907 near light point, Sector 46/47/48/49, Chandigarh. Complainant got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. A Case FIR No. 81, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

        A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that driver of Motor Cycle No. CH-03W-0158 namely Sagar R/o # 5455, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh hit to complainant’s nephew namely Jatin age about 6 years (pedestrian) near H.No. 5633, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh. He got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh. A Case FIR No. 182, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Accused arrested and later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

 SECTOR 31 POLICE STATION

Chandigarh,13.09.17-On 08.09.17 at about 01.05 PM, information has been received through control room that two boys theft after cheating Rs. 25,000/- and mobile phone near PNB bank plot No. 821 Industrial Area Ph-II Chandigarh. The spot was inspected by SI Yashpal Singh and statement of complainant has been recorded, in which he stated that 08.09.17 at about 11.15 AM, he went to PNB Bank at Plot No. 821 Ph-II Ind. Area Chandigarh for depositing Rs. 25,000/-. When he reached inside the bank and asked bank official about the process to deposit the rupees. He said you can deposit directly through ATM cash deposit machine. He was standing in a queue to deposit the same. He said one boy, who was also standing in the same queue that he had not knowledge to deposit the cash through machine and gave Rs. 25,000/- to the same boy for depositing. The boy came out to hear the noise of another boy. He asked to return his money and told he will deposit himself. Another boy asked he will also deposit Rs. 2 lacks. They went to him ahead of the ATM and told they will give your money. One of them asked his mobile phone Vivo Y-66 N and he (complainant) gave him. They gave a wrapped paper bundle (like bundle of notes) along with handkerchief to him for getting his assurance. As he caught paper of bundle, they ran away along with his mobile phone bearing SIM numbers Airte-9915446673 & JIO-7009749721, Rs. 25,000/- and passbook. In this regard, case FIR No. 283 dated 08.09.17 U/s 379,420 IPC PS-31 Chandigarh had been registered.

 

                It is pertinent to mention here that another case FIR No. 288 dated 12.09.17 U/s 379,420,34 IPC has been registered on the complaint of Bhushan Chorasiya S/o Mathura Prasad R/o Jhugi No. 14 K-Block Colony No.04 Chandigarh in the same modus operandy. 

 

                During the course of investigation on 11.09.17, secret tip-off has been received both alleged person will be go Kambala Mohali (PB) by road Gurudwara Sector-47. On this information Naka was laid near Gurudwara Sector-47 Chandigarh. After some time two boys were seen coming towards Naka on pedestrian. After seeing the police party they turn back. They suspected and caught with the help of police officials. They disclosed their name Jitender Paswan S/o Ravinder Paswan R/o Vill Simra Bilontiya PO- Bilontiya Distt Motihari Bihar and Santosh Sahni S/o Jiteshwar Sahni R/o Vill Dumariya PS Mohmad pur Distt Gopalganj Bihar and Rs. 10,720/- has been recovered from their possession. During their interrogation they disclosed the two other accomplished are also involved in same modus operandy. On 12.09.17 accused Aftab S/o Salim Ansari r/o Vill Simra Banotia PS Akil Banotia PS Trikoliya Distt Motihari Bihar and Upender S/o Atma Sah R/o Vill Simra Banotia PS Akil Banotia PS Trikoliya Distt Motihari Bihar have been arrested and recovered 10,000/-  

 

                The modus of operandi to win the trust of general public, who were standing in a queue to deposit the cash through ATM cash deposit machine. Alleged persons went to victims outside the bank, gave them wrapped paper bundle (likes notes) along with handkerchief, getting money from them and ran away from the scene. They duped the general public in various state i.e. Chandigarh, Zirakpur (PB), Delhi and various districts of Bihar. Now the investigation of above said cases are going on merit base.

Chandigarh Traffic Police has organized Road Safety Exhibition/Workshop at Chandigarh Institute of Engineering and Technology (CIET), Sector 26, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh,13.09.17-Today i.e. 13.9.2017, Chandigarh Traffic Police has organized Road Safety Exhibition/Workshop at Chandigarh Institute of Engineering and Technology (CIET), Sector 26, Chandigarh.  In this road safety awareness programme Sh. Shashank Anand, IPS, SSP/Traffic & Security, traffic marshals and CTP staff participated.  Talk on road safety was also delivered by SSP/Traffic.  More than 500 students of the above said institute participated in this road safety awareness programme.  Traffic marshals have also performed a skit titled “Paigam” during this road safety function. More than 500 road safety awareness pamphlets/literatures and 50 CDs on road safety were also distributed to the students and staff. 

 

                Chandigarh Traffic Police is regularly conducting such road safely awareness programmes in different schools/colleges to create traffic awareness amongst the students, who are the future road users.
