Chandigarh – 02nd July 2013: Sh. N.K. Chari, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India Chandigarh Circle planted shrubs/saplings at the rear Garden of SBI LHO Building under Bank's GO GREEN CAMPAIGN. Sh. Neeraj Vyas General Manager, Sh. M.K Virmani Gen. Secretary SBI Officers Association and Sh. Sanjeev Bandlish Gen. Secretary SBI Staff Association were also present on the occasion and planted saplings. Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Chari said that all 1015 branches under Chandigarh Circle have started tree plantation campaigns on Circle Day i.e. on 2nd July 2013 and will continue the same till the end of August 2013. This is a small gesture made towards preservation of our environment.

As a part of Circle Day celebrations Sh. N.K Chari honoured World Peace Mission Trust, an NGO working to spread literacy and education amongst weaker sections of the society. Sh. Chari presented a cheque of Rs. 1.00 lacs to Sh. V.K. Mehan, Secretary of the Trust.

Sh. N.K Chari on behalf of State Bank Of India Chandigarh Circle also honoured Sh. Satinder Sharma, only Indian umpire in the World Panel of Federation of International Hockey. Sh. Sharma has umpired in almost 150 International matches till date.
