Chandigarh,04.10.2022-Setting high ideals of medical professionalism in mitigating the disease and ailments, PGIMER has become the last port of call for patients with many serious and chronic illnesses, proving worthy of being a “centre of excellence” where the suffering patients converge to seek relief and succour. But do we ever acknowledge those who give us ‘relief and succour’?

The following compliment by a patient for Room No 28, MRI, Nehru Hospital, PGIMER as shared with Sh Kumar Gaurav Dhawan (IRS), Deputy Director (Administration) and Official Spokesperson, PGIMER came across as a breath of fresh air and is hugely motivating:

Very well behaved staff . Helpful. This is 09:00 - 14:00 hrs staff. Not a single case of temper flying high . Very rare sight as all cases were urgent and 2 machines I’m told were faulty - so extra rush. Very pleased to see the lady in-charge conduct herself gracefully when people were asking her questions again and again.”

Reacting to the feedback, Prof. Vivek Lal, Director PGIMER said, “With incessantly increasing rush, PGIMER team diligently works round the clock to treat all the patients and send them off recovered. That is our commitment, our moral responsibility. But it is extremely gratifying when the patients or the attendants also acknowledge the tireless efforts of the health care workers and express gratitude. This definitely inspires us to go on with greater vigour.”
