NEW DELHI:29.09.22-The Delhi Government is determined to decongest city roads and provide a pleasant commuting experience. In this direction, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia laid the foundation stone for doubling and expansion of the existing flyovers from Punjabi Bagh to Raja Garden, on Thursday. The project will be carried out under the Corridor Development and Flyover Construction Scheme of PWD and costs Rs 352.3 crore.

On this occasion, Shri Manish Sisodia, who holds the charge of the PWD as well, said, “With the expansion and doubling of the flyover, the traffic load on this part of the Ring Road Corridor will be reduced significantly. Along with saving time for the commuters, it will also reduce fuel consumption. This upcoming flyover will decongest the traffic in this part of Punjabi Bagh.” He added that the construction of this flyover will reduce the carbon emission of 1.60 lakh tonnes annually and save 18 lakh liters of fuel annually. Along with this people will be able to save Rs.200 crore annually and the total cost of the project will be recovered in just 1.5 years.

He shared that under this project both the single flyovers at Punjabi Bagh will be doubled. Here both the existing flyovers are of 2 lanes and both of them are one-way. Under this project, one lane will be added to both the existing flyovers and new flyovers of 3 lanes each will be constructed. After construction, two-way vehicle movement will be allowed on this route.

It is to be noted that with the doubling of the flyover, it will be extended from Punjabi Bagh to Raja Garden by 1400 meters.

Shri Manish Sisodia said that Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal has a vision that the roads of Delhi should look beautiful and people should get smooth traffic when they come out of their homes. "In this direction, PWD and our engineers are working round the clock and by expanding the roads of Delhi, they are reducing the traffic load on the roads. In this direction, doubling and expanding the flyover at Punjabi Bagh will prove to be a game changer in the progress of Delhi."

He said, “Today the Delhi model is being discussed all over the country. In the last 7 years, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, great work has been done in Delhi. He not only shows dreams but also makes them come true. He is the only leader in the country whose dictionary does not have the word ‘impossible’ in it. He believes in making everything possible. He always delivers what he promises. It is because of his work that the roads of Delhi have started becoming world-class and working under his guidance, we will make the whole of Delhi beautiful.”

It is to be noted that this corridor between Punjabi Bagh Flyover and Raja Garden Flyover is part of Ring Road and traffic load is very high because of vehicles plying from Haryana using Rohtak Road (NH-10). Along with this, it also works to connect North Delhi with South Delhi, Gurgaon and other parts of NCR. The existing one-way flyovers and low-capacity intersections are not sufficient for the current traffic load, which often leads to heavy traffic jams. With the construction of new flyovers and expansion of existing ones, lakhs of the people of Delhi NCR will benefit every day.

*Key Points of the Corridor Development and Flyover Construction Project between Punjabi Bagh Flyover and Raja Garden Flyover*

-> Construction of 6 lane elevated corridor from ESI Hospital to Punjabi Bagh Club Road

*1st Industry Day at DSEU, 100+ industry leads present to celebrate the day

*Bringing in industry to higher education will address the gaps in employment for the youth, act as missing puzzle piece in the employment grid: Prof Neharika Vohra VC DSEU

*HDFC, JLL, Maruti Suzuki, and 60+ partners celebrate Industry Day at DSEU
NEW DELHI:29.09.22-Celebrating the unique model of bringing in industry collaborations to the University, the Skill Varsity hosted the First Industry Day for DSEU. Established in August 2020, the University had placed immense emphasis on incorporating industry needs into the higher education system to skill youth and make them job ready as per market needs.

Working towards the same, DSEU has partnered with over 70 companies in the last 2 years, ensuring each program is industry linked and designed in collaboration with experts from industry and academia. The Industry Day, celebrated by DSEU is the first of its kind event hosted to bring together experts from industry and academia.

Organised at India International Center on 28th September 2022, the event saw participation of more than 100 industry leaders from over 80 organisations such as JLL, Maruzti Suzuki, HDFC, Boston Consulting Group, Bank of Baroda, Macmillan, Metropolis etc. Welcoming all dignitaries, Industry partners, members of DSEU, Prof. (Dr.) Rihan Khan Suri, Pro Vice Chancellor, DSEU shared “It is only fair to say this day would not have been possible if not for our industry partners present here. We are immensely grateful that you recognised our vision and have been an indispensable part for the University to achieve its aim of empowering our students with skills that would make them job ready and not just give them a degree. Our Industry partners have been a strong driving force for enabling DSEU to impart an education that is prepped with real world experience through embedded apprenticeships, internships, and interactions with industry partners. Our students are not waiting for their degree to gain experience, thanks to the industry leaders, they already are learning the ``it's and bit’s’ of the real work environment ”.

The Vice Chancellor, DSEU, Prof. (Dr.) Neharika Vohra said “Let us all take a second to acknowledge the express need of making higher education a collaborative effort of the University, industry and community. If we as a University keep teaching with just books and do not prepare our students for the real world, and if the industry keeps complaining about lack of talent and trained workforce then both academia and industry need to accept responsibility and see how we can work together. It is the responsibility of the University to ensure that students are being taught what is relevant to the 21st century. I cannot think of a better way than providing them with the opportunity to engage with industry leaders and learn as per their needs”.

She also shared “With industry linkages across all programs, our students are also focusing on holistic development as emphasised in the New Education Policy as well. I would like to extend gratitude to all our 80+ industry partners that share the vision of imparting relevant knowledge & skills to the youth and are supporting us in curriculum development, experiential learning, hands on learning, industry visits, and more”
