Chandigarh16.09.22-. The Governor of Punjab and UT Administrator, Banwari Lal Purohit has emphasized on the role of architect and decor in the field of building construction. The research plays a vital role in this direction needs to be encouraged. Purohit was addressing a gathering during the inauguration of four-day long eighth edition of Archibuild (Ins-Out) exhibition organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with Indian Institute of Architects, Fire and Safety Association of India and American Society of Heating and Air Conditioning Engineers at Parade Ground, Sector-17 on Friday.
The theme this year at Archibuild is ‘Smart and Sustainable Spaces’ wherein over 100 exhibitors of related sector are participating.

The UT Administrator while citing the examples from Taj Mahal, Red Fort and Ajanta Ellora said Indian buildings exemplary to the whole world and placed its repute in architectural with special reference with Chandigarh.
He said that everyone is aware about the ill effects of global warming and the benefits of energy efficiency, but now with the advent of technology and innovations, more efforts need to be accelerated towards adopting them especially in the adoption of smart and green buildings. He also stressed upon the construction and allied industry should come together to make housing affordable so that deprived can be benefitted out of it.
Earlier, while welcoming the Chief Guest, PHDCCI Chandigarh Chapter Chair Madhusudan Vij said that the construction industry has opened the doors of many small industries, hence it’s a high time to strengthen it by promoting investment in this sector. Dr. Ashok Khanna, former President of PHDCCI said that the Chamber has given a new direction to urbanization by bringing together architects and interiors under one roof through such platforms.
The Chamber's Assistant Secretary General Naveen Seth, Chairman, Architecture and Interior Task Force Anand Sharma, Principal Architect Surinder Bagha, Chandigarh Chapter's Co-Chair Suvrat Khanna and many other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
