NEW DELHI: 16TH AUGUST 2022-Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal invoked the spirit of unity & federalism, today, as he appealed to the Central Government to work in collaboration with progressive state governments like Delhi for development of the nation. The CM asserted that if we've to make India the number one nation of the world, we'll have to start working on a war footing to provide excellent & free education-healthcare to all. He went ahead to share a 4-point vision that could make India a rich superpower very soon: 1-Transform all government schools of the country into world-class schools; 2-Expand the number of government schools, every corner of India should have a government school; 3-Give permanent jobs to all contractual teachers and hire more educators; 4-Teachers will have to undergo excellent training and if needed, go abroad for training, like we have done in Delhi.
Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, "To make India a rich superpower, we'll have to make every Indian rich & powerful. I want to make every poor citizen become rich. Most government schools across the country are in very bad condition even though 17 crore children study in them, the future of these 17 crore children is in the dark. *If India has to become rich and developed like them, we have to make every poor person a rich person: CM Arvind Kejriwal
Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, "My only dream in life is to see India becoming the number one country in the world in my lifetime. India should be the strongest and greatest nation in the world. We all want India to be rich and developed and that is only possible when every Indian becomes rich. It is not possible that India becomes rich and developed while its citizens remain poor. Vice versa is also not possible that every Indian becomes rich while India remains undeveloped. I want to see every poor become rich. I have nothing against the rich but I want to make every poor person a rich person."
He continued, "How will a poor person become rich? Think for yourself. There is a farmer, labourer, plumber, carpenter or electrician. They have no choice but to send their children to government schools. The condition of government schools is pitiable. No classes take place there. Infrastructure is in shambles. Ceilings are leaking and walls are damaged. In such a situation, children from poor families cannot study. When they grow up, they will have to do odd jobs. They will continue to remain poor. But imagine that children from poor families go to a school which has been transformed. It is now an excellent school and quality education is provided to them. Children from poor, lower middle-class and even middle-class families become doctors, engineers or businessmen then they will eradicate the poverty of their families. Those families will become rich. There is a student named Kushal Garg whose father is a plumber. His father earns Rs 10-12 thousand per month. He got admission into All India Institute of Medical Sciences and he will become a doctor. When he will enter into his profession, his starting salary will be a minimum of Rs 3-4 lakhs. He will change the fortune of his family. There are 17 crore children studying in government schools across India. Apart from a few government schools which are good, the rest of the schools are in a terrible condition. The future of 17 crore children is in dark but their parents have to send them to government schools because they do have money. They are extremely poor and since the children do not get quality education in government schools, they also remain poor. If we transform the government schools across the country to make them excellent schools like we have done in Delhi where they get quality education, they will write their destinies with their own hands by becoming doctors, engineers, businessmen and lawyers. Every child will change the fortune of their family and they will become rich. Our India will also become rich and developed."
He added, "The US provides free education to every child of the country. What's noteworthy is that the US doesn't give free education to its children because it is rich and developed but it is rich and developed because it gives free education to its children. If the US stops giving quality education free of cost today, it will become poor in no time. England and Denmark also do the same. And they are also rich and developed because they provide education to their children free of cost and not the other way round. If India has to become rich and developed like them, we have to make every poor person a rich person."
Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, "To achieve this dream, we need to work on four fronts. First is to transform all the government schools in the country and make them excellent schools. Second is to build a lot of new government schools. Third is to regularise all the contractual teachers in the country and conduct a mass recruitment to hire new teachers to fill up the vacancies. And fourth is to provide quality training to the teachers and if the need prevails, they should be sent to foreign countries for training, just like we have done in Delhi. All these four steps are the roadmap for India becoming a rich and developed country. All this can be achieved in five years. We have transformed all the government schools in Delhi within five years. The same is possible in the entire country and we know how to do it."
He continued, "Today, I am offering the Central Government to use our services. We are also a part of this country. We can keep the politics aside. All of us who are in power and 130 crore Indians can get united to revamp all the government schools in the country. It is quite achievable. And you should also stop calling it a freebie. Providing quality education is not a freebie. If it is required to sleep with an empty stomach to ensure that our children get excellent education, 130 crore Indians are ready for that."
He added, "Secondly, every citizen should get quality treatment and healthcare free of cost. We have done that in Delhi. We have created such a system that everyone in 2.5 crore Delhiites gets treatment free of cost. From small illnesses to big and life-threatening diseases, entire treatment is free. If the Delhi Government can do that, the same is possible in the entire country as well. Only requirement is the dedication to revamp the governmental setup. Each of us have brought down the government setup to a pathetic condition. Be it government schools or hospitals, some governments have done that deliberately to favour the private players. Parents send their children to private schools because the government schools are in pitiable condition. Government hospitals and dispensaries are being deteriorated on purpose so that private hospitals can thrive."
"An Insurance scheme has been introduced under which, if you get hospitalised, you will get a Rs 5 lakhs cover. But think of a situation where I am severely ill but I don't need to get hospitalised. I have to pay a huge amount of money for treatment and medication but the insurance scheme is of no use to me. There are so many regions in the country without a hospital. What will the beneficiaries do with that scheme? They need treatment and not an insurance card. A government is doing away from its responsibilities if it gives an insurance card instead of treatment. The citizens are left to be on their own. They do not want to revamp the government hospitals. If every person in Delhi can get this 'Suraksha Chakra' that they get entire treatment free of cost. Be it a medicine as generic as crocin to an operation worth Rs 50 lakhs, everything will be given free of cost. This is possible in the entire country as well," the Delhi CM said.
CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal concluded, "To achieve this, we have to build government hospitals on a massive scale. We will also have to open mohalla clinics and dispensaries. X-ray and MRI machines need to be installed in the hospitals and facilities for lab tests should be arranged. This is quite achievable and the government does not have a lack of funds. If it is possible in Delhi, it is possible in other parts of the country as well. We observed in Delhi that once you make an investment in building hospitals and install all the machines, the average expenses on one person is merely Rs 2 thousand per year. There are 130 crore people in the country and everyone can get quality treatment with an investment of Rs 2.5 lakh crores. It will be a huge feat and we will be proud of it. Every rich and developed country has made arrangements for this. In England, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, everyone gets treatment free of cost and the government bears the expenses. We can do this and we should do this. It is possible in five years. We have done this in Delhi. We know how we can revamp the public healthcare setup in the entire country and I again request the Central Government to use our services. We are ready to work together with the Central Government. And you should stop calling it a freebie. India is a family of 130 crore people and if someone falls sick in the family, it is our responsibility to ensure that they get treated. We cannot leave them on their own. We cannot say that you will only get treatment if you have money."

*Kejriwal Government is keeping a close watch on the situation of Corona, all hospitals in Delhi have been advised to remain alert - Dy CM Manish Sisodia

*Prevention is better than cure, those who have taken only the first or second dose so far, should get the vaccine as soon as possible- Dy CM Manish Sisodia

NEW DELHI 16TH AUGUST 2022-A decrease in the cases of coronavirus in Delhi has been recorded of late. Two weeks ago, when the positivity rate was 16 to 17 percent, now it has come down to 10 to 12 percent. The infection rate of the virus is lesser in people who have taken the precautionary (booster) dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as compared to other people. 90% of the corona-infected patients admitted to the hospital are those who have taken only two doses of the vaccine. At the same time, only 10 percent of the patients were infected with the coronavirus after the third dose of the vaccine. In such a situation, to keep Delhiites safe from Corona, the Delhi Government has increased the pace of vaccination. On Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia held a meeting with senior officers of the Health Department and district magistrates to expedite vaccination. Chief Secretary Shri Naresh Kumar, who was also present in the meeting, directed the District Magistrates to visit the ground to know the status of vaccination camps to be set up at crowded places like metro stations, markets, and malls.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia said, "the Delhi Government is keeping a close watch on the situation of Corona, already we have completely upgraded our health infrastructure. Along with this, all the hospitals have also been asked to remain on alert. However, now people are also showing carelessness and it has been seen that many people are not taking precautionary doses. But the number of corona-infected patients admitted to hospitals shows that people who have taken precautionary doses are safer than corona infection. 90 percent of the corona-infected patients admitted to the hospital are those patients who have taken only two doses of the vaccine. At the same time, only 10 percent of the patients got corona infected after the third dose of the vaccine. It is clear from this that people who apply precautionary doses are safer from corona infection."

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia appealed to the people to get a booster dose of the vaccine at the earliest, saying, "Prevention is better than cure. All those who have not yet taken the vaccine or have taken only the first or second dose should take the precautionary dose as soon as possible. You should get the vaccine at the earliest by visiting your nearest health facility. Precautionary doses are necessary to prevent the spread of corona. Wearing a mask while going out of the house can prevent most cases. Apart from this, an appeal has been made to the senior citizens also to get the vaccination done as soon as possible."

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia said that even though the situation of Corona in Delhi is normal, the Delhi government is working continuously to keep people safe from this disease. People are being made aware of its vaccination, especially for applying booster doses. Strict instructions have been given to all the district magistrates regarding this. Along with this, instructions have been given to visit the vaccination camps to know the status of the vaccination. He said that the facility of vaccination has also been made available in many Mohalla clinics by the Delhi Government. People can get the vaccine by visiting their nearest health centers because the vaccine is very helpful in fighting corona.
